About this listing
Beautiful flat located in the hip Mission district! Includes parking, but also close to BART and bus lines. Enjoy my comfy, lovingly (vintage) decorated home, and take full advantage the Mission's best restaurants, cafes, bars, shops & theaters!
Channel your inner chef and whip up a delicious meal in the fully stocked, eat-in kitchen...I even have a creme brûlée torch for the culinary inclined!
Welcome to my 1BR flat in the Mission District/Noe Valley area, the hippest area of San Francisco and conveniently located a few blocks from the city's best cafes, restaurants, shops, and BART (subway). Private parking is available. It is also very convenient to the shuttles to the South bay - a few blocks away.
The apartment is fully (and lovingly) furnished with fun vintage/antique/mid-century pieces and is very bright & sunny. Bed is queen size, and the couch sleeps one very comfortably. The kitchen is very large and quite well equipped. I think you'll find everything you need for preparing just about anything, if you so choose! There is no separate dining room, but the kitchen has a nice size table, which can seat up to 6. Coin-op laundry is downstairs.
Wireless internet is included. I have a flat screen tv, but no cable subscription. You're welcome to hook up your computer to watch netflix, and I have a dvd player as well.
I love living here, and I think you will enjoy staying here. Thanks for looking!
Interaction with Guests
I am out of town when I rent the flat, but am always available by phone or email.
The Mission District is home to the most vibrant offerings of San Francisco. Funky cafes, dive bars, and thrift shops exist side-by-side with upscale restaurants and boutiques, making this neighborhood one of the most desirable places to live. Easy access to both public transit and to the highways to the south bay mean that it's convenient if you have to leave the area, although the many attractions and frequent sunshine (it's arguably the sunniest, warmest neighborhood of SF's many micro-climates) mean you won't want to leave!
BART is three blocks away. Muni J train is a few short blocks as well. Other buses (#49, etc) are a block away.
Other Things to Note
This is my home (not a perpetual, hotel-like rental), which I list when I'm out of town. I hope that you will enjoy the experience of living in a real SF home that is lovingly furnished and super comfortable!
Other than the obvious (please be respectful of the neighbors & keep the noise down after 10PM), please just no smoking in the house. Other than that, make yourself at home! I love living here and hope you will enjoy it too!
Our stay in San Francisco was wonderful and made even better by this charming, well decorated and situated apartment. Shawn was an attentive host and was quickly responsive upon our arrival. She was also available to give to us some tips about good locations, restaurants or cafe. The apartment is in a great location in the Mission district close to good restaurant, shops, and bars. I would definitely recommend to stay in Shawn's apartment.
We enjoyed our stay at Shawn's apartment! It was easy to communicate with her and she was so lovely to welcome us with a bottle of wine and some baguette. It was a nice neighbourhood to live in.
Shawn was a great host. It was easy to communicate before and during the stay. And we got good information. The location was great and we enjoyed the apartment and the area. Shawn gave us many tips on good restaurants in the area.
Great experience overall. We didn't see Shawn because we arrived very late. But she made everything easy for us. Excellent, fast communication by email and text. Having the parking spot is a big plus with this apartment. Location is great. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, bus/train stations etc. Highly recommended!
We felt very welcome...provided with brochures, great recommendations and a bottle of wine! The neighborhood has some of the best restaurants in the city, but is also quiet and peaceful. Great organic market across the street. In my opinion, the apartment looked better in person and felt bigger than the pictures made it look!
Great spot. Shawn was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay! I didn't meet Shawn because she was out of town but she was extremely responsive on email and did a great job coordinating everything for us (even arranged to have her car moved so we could use her parking spot). I highly recommend the neighborhood. Lots of great spots to check out and Shawn provides a list of her favorite restaurants/bars, etc.
About the Host, Shawn
I'm a college instructor from San Francisco, CA, teaching Political Science and International Relations. I love talking all things politics, especially over a good bottle of wine. But, most of all, I love to travel! I have lived in France for nearly 3 years as an undergraduate and have traveled throughout most of Europe. I love meeting new people and sharing travel stories with guests and other hosts!
