The Space

Set at the top of the beautiful village of Burnsall, in the heart of Wharfedale, the cottage sits up a private lane opposite the stunning church of St Wilfrid which dates back to Saxon times. Burnsall has two pubs and a shop, and is surrounded by some of the best walking, caving, climbing and cycling in the country. The best pubs in the county are very close by.

The cottage is no frills and well lived in, but has wonderful views down the dale, a great internet facility and a log burning stove. Parking for 2 cars is easy, 3 possible. Free range eggs available from next door farm.

Easy access to local towns by car: Grassington 8mins, Skipton 20mins, Ilkley 25mins, Harrogate 35mins, Leeds/Bradford 1hr. Located 50mins from Leeds-Brad airport. A basic bus service exists which means access only by public transport is possible with planning.

You have your own double room with a comfortable king sized double bed, and access to a shared bathroom. You also have the comfy lounge and kitchen at your disposal.

Sometimes it is possible to rent the whole house. See 'my other listings' on the right hand side of this page.

Nightly bookings are not really my thing, so I request a minimum of 2 nights. Prices vary according to length of stay.

  • We had an absolutely beautiful time in the Yorkshire Dales and Sarah advised us on lovely walks to go on. The village and surrounding villages are so quaint and easy to get to with a car. Sarah was most welcoming and her breakfast healthy. The extremely comfortable bed is just what you need at the end of a long days walk. I would advise anyone to stay there!

  • Sarah's home is a hub of peace and tranquility surrounded by some of the loveliest scenery in England. You wake up to the sounds of sheep and chickens, it's wonderful. Sarah is a really lovely person, she is so kind and gentle and great to talk to, in short, the perfect host.

    Thanks Sarah for everything!!

  • This is a really wonderful place to stay - the very definition of a beautiful yorkshire dales village, with some fantastic scenic walks and exceptional pubs right on the doorstep.

The room was clean and very peaceful, with lambs and chickens running around just outside the window! The bed was very comfortable, and it was great to have use of the rest of the house too.

Sarah was a super-considerate and welcoming host, and was very keen to go the extra mile to make our stay special - thanks so much!

  • We had a fantastic stay in the small village of Burnsall. Sarah was a great host and had lots of recommendations for things to do, walks and restaurants in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Yorkshire dales and would recommend a stay in Sarah's lovely cottage.

  • As a first experience of AirBnB Sarah as a host could not have been better. She is delightful, her house is lovely and we happily stayed in a very comfortable bed for 2 nights and enjoyed the area, which is superb. Sarah was helpful with getting taxis, finding good food and walks, shopping and even dropped us off at the neighbouring village one night when we were meeting friends, Views are lovely, the village is sweet and there are plenty good pubs with excellent food all around. We can heartily recommend EVERYTHING associated with Sarah's Cosy Dales Cottage.
