The Space

Welcome to the Colorado mountains! My house is downtown, a 4 minute walk to the center of Glenwood Springs. There are many attractions, shops, restaurants, and activities to enjoy. The World's Largest Hot Spgs Pool is a 6 min walk. Two min. walk to the CO River. We have rafting, caving, spas, fishing, dinner/theater, outdoor market, live music, and many more local activities. Ski Sunlight Ski Resort is about 25 mins away.

You would have the private bedroom with the full size bed, and full use of the house. Full kitchen, the one (shared) bathroom has a shower or tub bath. There is no cable for TV, but about 200 movies to watch. Please arrive after 3 pm. Gay friendly. You are welcome to bring food and cook your meals. Washer and dryer are always available.
Come for a weekend retreat or stay longer if you wish. I do have other airbnb guests in the house sometimes, as the entryway is used as a solo traveler bedroom sometimes. There is one bike for your use. The bus stop is close by. I have a friendly golden retriever and cat. Quiet neighborhood. There is a Guidebook on my other listing for Solo Traveler,Thanks, and please ask anything. Clean towels and bed linens are provided, of course. This listing is for 2 guests. No smoking please. Hope to see you!
Coffee or tea is offered in the morning!
Children must be 10 or over.
(Parking on the street in front of the house.)

  • Rachael helped us out in a pinch when our finicky car appeared to be overheated while on our way home. We were unexpectedly forced to spend the night in beautiful Glenwood Springs (there are worse places to break down!), and Rachael responded incredibly quickly to our plea. Her home was conveniently located within a short walk to various downtown eateries, including a microbrewery, which turned out to be a delicious final destination of the evening (best onion rings of vacation).

  • Rachel (email hidden)e was easy to talk to and we had a lot in common, so that was nice. Her house is within walking distance of the Old Downtown, the Hot Springs, the bus lines, and restaurants. The bed that she has is quite comfortable. I slept very well for my entire stay. She also has a very sweet and friendly dog named Bear. I didn't really get to know the cat because she seems to keep herself behind the scenes most of the time. Rachel also has some very interesting"old things" to look at in her house.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Rachael because we were vendors at the Strawberry Days Festival- just down the road from her house. At the last minute our dog sitter could not watch our newly adopted, well-behaved Chihuahua named Fred (we didn't name him, but he's too old to change his name), so Rachael let us bring him.

Rachael is an excellent host. She is very warm, easy to talk to, and has calming energy. She is also very knowledgeable about Glenwood Springs and suggested several good restaurants (Juicy Lucy's is a must) and attractions like the hot springs, caves, and adventure park with roller coasters.

We felt like we had the whole house to ourselves because Rachael slept in a cottage in the back of the house, but she was available if we needed her- like when when we locked ourselves out of our bedroom, she immediately came in and helped us.

She also has two lovely pets- Bear and Bow (Golden Retriever & Siamese Cat) that got along great with Fred, so that was a relief.

I recommend this AirBnb- we will definitely be back!

  • Rachel's home was conveniently located with easy access to the Hot Springs right across the river and tons of restaurants and bars in the area. She was warm and accommodating as a host. We loved hearing her stories of walking El Camino in Spain! The room was sweet and the bed was comfortable. We had to walk through another air B&B guest's bedroom to get in and out of the house so that might be an issue for some. Cozy and well appointed kitchen. We sat in her little garden out front at night. I can sometimes be afraid of dogs, but had no problem with her friendly teddy bear of a dog.

  • We were looking for a quiet, inexpensive place to spend one night in Glenwood Springs and Rachael's place was just the thing. Located on a quiet street just a couple of blocks from the downtown area it was perfect. There is plenty of street parking and we felt perfectly safe parking our classic convertible there overnight.

Rachael was very accommodating and an experienced traveler and we spend some time talking with her. Bear, her very friendly Golden Retriever, loved to be petted and played with but was not pushy about it, which was great.

All in all, it was a fine stay for us.

  • My mom and I stayed with Rachel for one night, very spontaniouly. She was patient with us, as everything took some time because it was our first booking. It was a wonderfull stay, comfortable bed (email hidden)! I particulary enjoyed all the decorations and the style of Rachels house.
    Thank you again!

  • My wife and I stayed with Rachael for 2 nights on our honeymoon. Rachael was very welcoming and flexible with our arrival. We were greeted at the door by the cutest golden retriever named Bear. Rachael and Bear made our stay feel like home! Rachael's home was very comfortable and lovely. Her house is only a short walk from the restaurants and shops of downtown Glenwood. We look forward to staying here again!

  • Had a wonderful stay with Rachael, she has a lovely home, walking distance to the amtrak station and restaurants and the hot springs, I would highly recommend a stay.

  • My spouse and I stayed here for 4 nights and have nothing but good things to say. Rachael was very nice and accommodating. Her house is within short walking distance from the train station, grocery store, the big pool and vapor caves and many bike rental shops as well as lots of restaurants. It was nice to be able to cook meals and spend time with her sweet cat and dog. We would definitely stay here again. We appreciated the quiet and welcoming environment.

  • *Rachael was very kind and friendly. She wasn't there when we arrived, but her friend greeted us and gave us a quick tour through the home. Rachael came just 10-15 min later and also introduced herself. They were both friendly but also gave us the space we needed.
*It was a bit strange (but fine) that Rachael's "bedroom"/bed was the actual entryway of the house, so we had to go through her bedroom when she was sleeping/waking up in the morning in order to exit the house. (The airbnb bedroom is like the main bedroom in the middle of the house, between the dining room and kitchen.) Rachael woke up as we were passing through her room/leaving and said goodbye to us from her bed.
*Unique, antique, kind of eclectic style home, with wood floors, lots of light in the living room, and overall friendly space. Dog + cat on premise, but they both seemed well-behaved.
*The kitchen was clean and functional. We made tea and salads, so we didn't cook, but it was easy to find what we were looking for. There wasn't much space in the fridge for our groceries, but we were able to find enough space with moving some things around. We were just thankful we had access to a clean kitchen and have a little fridge space during our LONG U.S. road trip.
*Location was great as we were able to just drive on over to downtown to eat and access Glenwood Hot Springs Pool (Fabulous! We bought the day pass and went for a few hours in the afternoon and then again at night the hour before they closed!)

I have lived in Colorado since 1972, and I've lived in Glenwood Springs for 32 yrs. I have 2 adult children. I am an artist, and a grandmother. I travel solo to Europe when I can. I grew up in southern Calif, and I (email hidden) in Social Work. I have a cat and a dog, a garden, and a lovely old victorian house built in 1883. I have made the entry way into the solo guest room, it's been used by friends and family over the years. I live in an incredible, quaint, mountain town of 8,000 population between Aspen and Vail, Colorado. I enjoy meeting new people. I live around the corner from the old train station, and a few houses from the Colorado River. I love living here and sharing the area. Come on over!
