Local claims to fame include several embassies, including the sprawling Embassy of Russia in Washington (with its legendary tunnels beneath) and the Visa Office of the Chinese embassy. Wisconsin Avenue in Glover Park is home to a variety of restaurants and other businesses. Guy Mason Park is between Wisconsin Avenue and the Naval Observatory just south of Calvert Street, and is the location of a softball diamond, a playground for small children, and an unofficial enclosed dog park. Guy Mason Park is also the location of the annual Glover Park Day festival, held in early June.

Housing in Glover Park is a mix of apartment buildings and porch-front rowhouses built in the 1920s and 1930s. The neighborhood's elementary school, Benjamin Stoddert Elementary, is one of the most highly-rated schools in the District. Neighborhood Cluster 14 (Glover Park, Cathedral Heights, and McLean Gardens) has one of the lowest crime rates in the District. Glover Park residents harvest crops from small, individual garden plots in the two Victory gardens leased from the National Park Service.

  • Maria's place has everything you need. You have to like cats, as hers are friendly and will be curious about you. They are well behaved and very cute to watch, but want to be near you. Her kitchen, although small, is extremely well-equipped - a great place for someone who cooks. Location is about a 20 minute walk to Metro. Don't miss the Firehook Bakery on Connecticut Ave near the Metro. Worth the walk!

  • Appartement dans un immeuble assez vétuste, le quartier est pour sa part agréable. La présence des chats est inconfortable à cause de l'odeur de la litière. L'appartement est assez petit et son prix n'est pas en rapport avec la prestation.

  • My wife and I really enjoyed staying in Maria-Fernanda's apartment on our recent trip to DC and would recommend it to anyone. It was clean, bright, and very convenient to where we needed to be.

The cats (Pinto and Cirilo) are both clean and friendly and require minimal attention (and neither of them sleep in the bed, in case that might bother you) - just make sure Pinto isn't near the door when you're going out because she likes to bolt down the hall and back!
