Description

The space

We are a family of four living in this very large house. We have several bedrooms available to travelers & folks visiting our fair city. We operate short term bedroom rentals in the vein of a true B&B; expect to share common areas with our family, friends, and perhaps another traveler or two. Longer term renters become housemates; laundering their linens as needed and supplying their own groceries. Elisabeth & I both come from families of six; open and direct communication is a requirement in big families and in shared living spaces. If there is something you require let us know and we will do what we can to provide it. All guests are treated generously & with respect. We ask the same in return.

We are gracious hosts and enjoy sharing our favorite restaurants and local adventures with new friends. You'll find local chocolates on your pillow when you arrive, as well as maps and a copy of the most recent Boise Weekly. We are tea drinkers and the Roosevelt Market is just two blocks away and ready to serve coffee beginning at 7am.

This Grand San Francisco style home is perfectly located in the Warm Springs neighborhood. Until recently the home of Bethine Church, the venerable widow of renowned Idaho Statesman Frank Church. Many national and international dignitaries have enjoyed evenings in this gracious living room and taken meals in the formal dining room. Mrs. Church says that the house has a wonderful spirit and that everyone who has ever entered it has had a great deal of fun there.

A brief walk from the State Capital, downtown restaurants & bars, the Boise River Greenbelt, and trail access at Military Reserve Park. With all of these wonderful destinations less than a mile from home, this is a location that cannot be beat in Boise.

This was my second stay with James. I contacted James on short notice, but he got right back to me. The house is easy to find in the great Warm Springs neighborhood of Boise. It is very comfortable, clean, and quiet. We were able to relax and we slept very well. I like places in that are off the beaten path but still within walking distance of restaurants and events. James' place is a 15-20 minute walk from downtown Boise, and my wife and I enjoyed walking to dinner. James and Elisabeth are very warm inviting people. I highly recommend them.

Warm and welcoming best describes my hosts James and Elisabeth and their lovely family home. My arrival was met by Elisabeth and their easy going yellow Lab, sporting a stick in his mouth that he was very proud of. James helped carry my bags in and made me familiar with the layout and workings of their home. After spending some time trading stories and getting to know each other better I retired to a wonderfully comfy bed in my cozy private room and had a peaceful night's sleep. When I was ready to leave the following morning I discovered that I had a flat tire which James helped me to re-inflate enough to get me to the tire repair shop he suggested. I highly recommend this charming location to anyone traveling through Boise. You'll find it clean, comfortable and best of all filled with the warmth of your hosts.

We stayed in a number of Airbnb places during our 3 week road trip during the autumn, and this was by far the nice place that we stayed in. Our accommodations were wonderful, nice bed, great indoor hot tub, and wonderful neighborhood. There is a lovely botanical garden close by, and we enjoyed the plantings and Halloween additions. We definitely want to return to Boise because of their place and the lively downtown scene. James and Elisabeth were warm and helpful hosts.

James and Elisabeth are very warm and welcoming - the house was a lovely place to rest and relax in Boise. We were impressed by how they hosted us so graciously with 7 week- new Olson in tow. Yummy homemade smoothies and blueberry pancakes for breakfast were a great treat. They had lots of good recommendations for things to do with kids and places to eat in town. We would love to return and stay longer. P.S. We saved our gourmet salted caramel chocolates to sweeten the long drive through Nevada on our way home.

Great house and great location. 3 minutes from downtown. Great neighborhood for walking. We didn't try to book until 7:30 on a Saturday night. By 8:30 James had us all set up with a room. He made a great recommendation for breakfast at the Red Feather Lounge. Great place to stay.

James User ProfileJames is a superhost.

We enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to Boise. We have plenty of experience in doing that; in a typical month we have visitors for 15+ days. We will happily provide tips for dining, entertainment, or outdoor adventure. We also completely respect the need for privacy and solitude; there is ample space to check out with a book or your thoughts.

We enjoy large family meals at home, and get out to restaurants and performances weekly--we are pretty tied into the arts community. Kayaking, biking, hiking, and coffee shop lounging are all in a days work for us.
