Welcome to Smith Family Farm!
Our 5th-generation Family Farm was built in 1876 and beautifully renovated. This historic 30-acre retreat offers the perfect blend of peace and play. Located about 5 miles off I-90, we feature a 7-hole disc golf course, private walking trails, and a sun-drenched deck for morning coffee. With space for 10 guests, a Blackstone griddle, and a cozy fire pit, it’s the ultimate Minnesota getaway for families and friends. Come make your own history at the farm!
The space
With 2,250 square feet of thoughtfully designed living space, there is room for everyone to spread out or gather together.
The Main Floor: Features a full-scale, modern kitchen and a spacious living area. The main-floor bathroom features a deep soaking tub with a hand-shower wand—perfect for a relaxing end to the day (please note: there is no stand-up shower on this level).
The Second Floor: Home to peaceful sleeping quarters and a second full bathroom with a traditional shower/tub combination.
The Bonus Basement: A cozy 250-square-foot "nook" designed specifically for games, play, and rainy-day entertainment.
Sleeping Arrangements (Sleeps 10)
Our flexible layout is ideal for a mix of adults and children:
Second Floor:
- Bedroom 1 & 2: Quiet retreats featuring comfortable Queen-sized beds.
- Bedroom 3: The "Bunk Room," featuring four extra-large Twin beds (plenty of room for adults!).
First Floor:
- The Sunroom: A bright, airy space featuring a Queen-sized Murphy bed—the perfect spot to wake up to the morning light.
Outdoor Living & 30 Private Acres
The magic of Smith Family Farm truly happens outside.
Sunrise & Sunset: Start your morning with coffee on the large east-facing deck as the sun rises over the fields. In the evening, move to the fire pit near the pavilion to roast marshmallows and watch the sky turn gold.
Play & Explore: Take a stroll on our private walking trail (a guest and pet favorite!) or enjoy our 7-hole disc golf course. We also provide cornhole, bocce ball, and plenty of space to run.
The Pavilion: A covered outdoor gathering space featuring a Blackstone Griddle and ample seating for alfresco dining.
Location & Convenience
Located just a short drive from Interstate 90, you’ll enjoy total rural tranquility while staying within easy reach of local towns. 25 minutes to La Crosse, WI; 20 minutes to Winona, MN; 15 minutes to Rushford & Houston, MN. Easy access to hiking, small towns, and regional attractions.

Pet Friendly (Up to 2 House Trained Dogs)
Guest access
Guests have full, private access to the entire house and the surrounding 30+ acres. You are invited to enjoy:
- Our private walking trails (pet-friendly!).
- The 7-hole disc golf course.
- The outdoor pavilion with a Blackstone Griddle and seating.
- The fire pit for evening s'mores and sunsets.
- Yard games, including cornhole and bocce ball.
Other things to note
Bathroom Setup: To help you plan your stay, please note that the main-floor bathroom features a beautiful soaking tub with a hand wand but no stand-up shower. The stand-up shower is located in the second-floor bathroom.
Groups: Our home comfortably sleeps 10. While we welcome all groups, the bed configuration (specifically the 4-twin bunk room) is exceptionally well-suited for families with children.
Pets: Your furry friends (up to 2 house-trained dogs) are welcome to join. Please let us know if you are bringing a pet.
The property is on a country road (Gravel). Your car can get a little dusty. Not recommended for motorcycles.
