Welcome to The Bunkhouse! Our small cabin was built in 1924 and has all the charm you would expect from an early Ruidoso cabin. It’s located on a quiet road just a short walk to all the wonderful Midtown shops and restaurants. Expect to see wildlife during your stay as it’s common for deer and elk to meander up and down the street. You can also find them getting a drink from Rio Ruidoso across the street.

The space
Our entire cabin is yours to enjoy. At 500 square feet, it is small yet comfortable. Please keep the size in mind when booking as it may be cramped for 4 adults. However, it’s ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. Have a larger group? Please check out our other property next door, Hootie’s Cabin in the Pines. For your morning boost, you will find coffee for the Keurig along with creamer, sugar and splenda. The kitchen is stocked with pots/pans/toaster/microwave and basic spices. Store your food in our full size refrigerator. Our oven/range is apartment size and great for basic cooking and baking. Enjoy a movie on Netflix or DVD player while relaxing on the comfy sofa bed next to the gas fireplace in the living room. We offer streaming WiFi throughout the cabin and the password can be found in the binder. In the bedroom, you’ll find a full XL bed with 100% cotton sheets. Charge your devices with the USB port in the bedside table. On the other side of the room, you’ll find a loveseat. Our cabin has plenty of natural light during the day. However, for your comfort in the evening, the lights in the kitchen, bedroom and living room are on dimmer switches so adjust them as you wish. In the warmer months, there is a window unit air conditioner in the living room and there are also fans in the living and bedrooms. Since we’re in the mountains, feel free to open windows and enjoy the cool natural air. The cabin offers exceptional views so open the blinds and watch the wind blow through the pine trees from your own personal tree house!
