The apartment has 1 bedroom with double bed and a very comfortable double sofa bed in the living room. 65m2 in total. The flat has wifi, washing machine, coffee maker, microwave, etc. The kitchen is fully renovated and equipped. The lounge is spacious and has a window of 5.5 m long with nice views so it is very bright.
The apartment is located in the neighborhood Linkeroever (left bank), which is a very quiet residential neighborhood, but still very near the center of Antwerp, although it is on the other side of the riu Schelde. The neighborhood is connected to the centre of Antwerp by several tunnels. The most interesting is the pedestrian tunnel. This tunnel is very cool, very old and in summer is full of tourists and families. The tunnel entrance is 1,5km away from the apartment (about 20m walk). The tunnel itself is 400 meters long. So in maximum half an hour walk you can reach the center of Antwerp (next to the cathedral). There are also busses and trams that can take you to the center. The neighborhood is very green, there are several parks and there is even a beach (although you can not swim), with many restaurants. The truth is that it is a very nice neighborhood, especially in summer.
the apartment was very nice, cozy and well equipped with a coffee machine, a tv, free wifi, towels, etc.
we were welcomed by lodewijks father who was very polite, even though we arrived later than expected. when we asked for a city map he went to the tourist information and got all the brochures they had for us. it was a pleasure to meet him :)
we kept asking lodewijk questions (got tipsy and forgot our adress haha) by text message and he always replied very quickly without getting annoyed.
the apartment was further away from the city center than we expected. it's located in a quiet living area on the other side of the Schelde. if, like us, you don't want to go by car, one can also take the bus 36, whose stops are a little hard to find once you are in the center and forgot to look them up :) or tram 15
what i really recommend are the city bicycles, which cost 3,60 a day plus a little bit if you keep them longer than 30 min at a time. there is a station to park them right in front of the apartment from where you can go through the sint anna tunnel (very fun on a bike a little long by foot) and reach the center in about 15 min.
in general it's a nice place in a calm neighbourhood.
(for dinner we went to Amadeus - all you can eat spare ribs in a beautiful old restaurant. i can really recommend it! )
I had a great stay at Antwerp Left Bank. The flat is located in a very nice part of town. Lots of green space and the building also has a nice garden. The citycenter of Antwerp is very close, only 15 minutes walk. I can recommend this flat to everybodydy: it is clean and convenient.
