About this listing
This is a bright and sunny single-family home in one of San Francisco's best, most family-friendly neighborhoods. One-block walk to great restaurants, shopping and a beautiful park with panoramic views of the city.
This three-bedroom house in prime Bernal Heights is cozy but spacious, with two bedrooms (one queen, one twin with a trundle) and one bath upstairs, plus an additional bedroom (queen), full bath, and office w/TV downstairs. The house includes wifi, laundry, reserved street parking, and a large, sunny, fully-equipped kitchen/dining room that's great for cooking and entertaining.
We offer reduced rent in exchange for looking after our two well-behaved cats. They are friendly and sweet and just need someone who can feed them twice a day and make sure they don't get outside.
More about the house and neighborhood:
A leafy garden (with gas grill and table/chairs) is accessible from a deck off the upstairs bedroom, as well as from the downstairs bedroom.
The location is ideal: We're a block from Bernal's best bakery, along with all of the neighborhood's great restaurants: 903, Liberty Cafe, Moki's, etc. Also on Cortland: grocery store, library, playground, yoga studio, specialty food and gift shops, two bus lines, and pretty much anything else you could ask for -- all just a pleasant stroll away.
If you're looking for exercise, a two-block hike up the hill takes you to Bernal Hill with its panoramic views across the city and popular jogging/walking path. The lively Mission District and 24th street BART station are a 20 minute walk (or 10 minute bus ride).
If you don't know Bernal Heights, it's a friendly, bustling little village, right in the middle of San Francisco. Look up our neighborhood blog, "Bernalwood," if you'd like to learn more.
And drop me a line if I can tell you anything else about our home!
I'm from San Francisco, where I'm a public radio and podcast reporter for an NPR station. I like like taking walks & bike rides, reading fiction, cooking, hanging with my husband and our two little kids.
