Our House offers a very spacious apartment near the center of the city.
The House is an example of a Queen Anne Victorian two-story house built in San Diego in 1889. We converted one level of the house as a Bed & Breakfast unit.
Sherman Heights is the Historical Heart of San Diego's beginning. Many beautiful homes from the end of the century can be seen throughout the area.
The two bedroom apartment offers the comfort of a hotel and the individuality of a BnB. The apartments is on second floor therefore there are stairs. The place is fully equipped and has its private entrance, a spacious living area, two conected bedrooms and its own bathroom.
Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, Bedroom 2 full size.
The two bedrooms connect to one another and you need to pass through both to bathroom, so privacy may be an issue if you are with other people rather than family. There is also a large couch in the living room, TV and free WiFi.
The apartment has a full kitchen and the bathroom has a tub.
This house can be your home away from home!!!
Parking is free on street.
View of Downtown San Diego from the unit !!!
The entire unit is about 680 sq.feet (65 sq. meters).
We are a few block east of downtown San Diego and a 5 minute drive (or a 5 minute cab ride) from the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter (on 5th street) where you will find restaurants, coffee houses, bars, and nightclubs. We minutes away from the Petco Park, the new Baseball Stadium and the Convention Center.
The House is 10 minutes drive from the Airport and the Santa Fe Train Station.

My friend and I had a great three-day stay in Rene's comfortable and conveniently located apartment. Everything was as advertised. Rene was available for questions and help if we needed it and provided excellent information about restaurants and attractions.
Thank you for allowing us to stay at your apartment. Though it was raining, San Diego gave us a fun experience, especially with friends. The apartment was clean and new and had impressed the other guests that went along with me, and it was very convenient to get to Downtown and Balboa Park. The neighborhood may be a joke to some San Diegans, but it is a safe and quiet area - exactly what we were looking for. Thanks for everything!
Such a cute place off the beaten path in San Diego. The apartment was fully furnished and even had added touches like restaurant and site recommendations, water and juice in the fridge, shampoo in the bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
Perfect location. Close to downtown
There is a great place. We like the house there and Rene is a really nice person. The room and bathroom are clearn and they also provide orange and milk for us! I like the colorful window! We had a great vacation in San Diego!
My mom and I had a great stay at the Stuyck House. We were very impressed with Rene's attention to detail (all the soaps looked brand new, he provided some nice coffee and teas, there are up to date magazines with coupons for local attractions, etc). The apartment is also decorated beautifully and it's a very comfortable and charming space to relax in after a long day of sight seeing. I would definitely recommend this to friends visiting San Diego over a hotel; it's a much more homey experience. The location in the city was also very central and close to a lot of attractions, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to allow for peace and quiet at night. Overall, we had an excellent stay!
Location is excellent, quick access to downtown and major freeways. Place is very clean and the owner put a ton of thought and details into your stay. The place is so comfortable I slept like a baby in the bed. The owner was so sweet and really went the extra mile. I highly recommend and would come back.
Thanks Rene!! Everthing was perfect and we loved your apartment. We wish be there again in a few month!! Gracias y saludos! !
Renee was a warm and gracious host, who took the time to make me feel welcome and answer my (many) questions about San Diego. The apartment is lovely and located in a great neighbourhood.
I would happily stay again and recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a great getaway in San Diego! Be sure to check out the list of restaurants that Renee has suggested - the Turf Supper Club was fantastic!
We had a great experience staying at Rene's place!
As a host, he's a total pro who knows how to do this Airbnb thing, but it wouldn't matter much if he wasn't such a genuinely warm and friendly person. He's a bit like a magician - pretty much invisible - until you have a question or need something, and then he's a text away.
The place is well equipped with all the necessities and some nice extras, and Rene was quick to answer any questions I had or tell me where... that... thing is.
Rene has done a great job with the space and decor. It's a very cozy, simple-yet-classy space. As long as you're not expecting a modern condo with granite and stainless, you'll do fine.
As should be expected with a place that's over a century old, it has just enough character to make it fun and interesting. And no ghosts as far as I can tell.
As others have mentioned, the tub is a cool piece. I wasn't sure what to expect (is it just a tub?)... but not to worry - it's fully set up with a shower too.
I'm looking forward to staying again.
