I'm a pretty awesome host too! happy to give you the lowdown on many Austin places- especially if you like movies and dancing!

The neigborhood is very eclectic and funky- walking distance to many food options and a 10 minute walk over beautiful Lady Bird Lake to land you right in the middle of the action of downtown Austin!

  • Unfortunately, I got bumped from the trip to SXSW, but three of my colleagues went, stayed and thoroughly enjoyed their visit. Amanda was great and the proximity to SXSW was fantastic. Thanks, Amanda!

  • We had a great stay at Amanda's place for 4 nights. The location was great (about a 20 minute walk into downtown Austin). Amanda was very easy to deal with and incredibly friendly.

  • Amanda was a fantastic host and the apartment was very nice (well decorated)! The location was good for us- within walking distance of the convention center and downtown, but also close to the cool area south of the river between Lamar and Congress, as well as lots of excellent restaurants. The apartment got a little crowded with our large group of 8, but it was still definitely manageable and there was plenty of bed space. I will certainly recommend this place to friends and family. Thanks Amanda for a great stay!

  • Amanda's apt was perfect for the Austin girls' weekend my two friends & I put together! The apt was big & had everything in it that we needed, plus was in a greeeeat location (so close to the river, near fun shopping, near good restaurants, even walkable from downtown one night when we couldn't find a cab). Especially if you've done the downtown/SXSW thing before and want to check out other cool Austin spots. (NYC-ers or those familiar, I feel like this would be the equivalent of staying in a cool Brooklyn neighborhood as opposed to Manhattan?)

It was my first Airbnb experience, but I can't imagine anyone being a better host than Amanda - apt was clean, stocked with toiletries and treats and she even mailed me two necklaces I had left there. Totally unnecessary, but very appreciated. Highly recommend Amanda & the apt!!

  • Visited and stayed in Amanda's place over 4th of July weekend.
Place was just as described. Clean and in a very good area just a walk away from all of the action. Even though she was out of town, she was very easy to communicate with via text and e-mail and provided some instruction as to how to work everything in her place. Definitely a great place to stay and I would not hesitate to contact her again if I'm ever in town!

  • Amanda's apartment was the perfect spot for a weekend trip with a few of my friends. The place is clean, well decorated, and walking distance to South Congress. She's a communicative and helpful host, I would definitely recommend her and her apartment to anyone visiting Austin. Thanks for the OJ and a great weekend Amanda!

  • This location is extremely walk-able! We walked downtown (15 Mins) and to Barton Springs (35 mins) with ease! Amanda was a great host and very gracious with her space. Would definitely recommend to a friend! We stayed with 6 people and everyone was very comfortable.

  • Amanda was very helpful and flexible in planning our day in Austin. We were a group of 6 girls and we fit comfortably at her place; she left towels, sheets, extra blankets and toiletries if we needed them. She even offered us food and drink too!

The location was great for where we wanted to go out for lunch (Hopdoddy!) and we easily found pedicabs from Rainey Street back after bar time too.

  • My friends and I booked with Amanda 6 months ago for our SXSW vacation and we are so glad we did! The house was extremely comfortable and everything we needed was there for us, including toiletries in the bathroom which we hadn't even thought of. The walk to downtown took between 25-35 minutes (6th street/red river) but this wasn't a problem if we managed our time. We were also easily able to grab a pedicab and always used Whataburger as our landmark (and late night snack destination) I can't say anything bad about our experience, Amanda was great with her communication, very relaxed and let us be completely but responded immediately when we did get in touch.

Thank you so much Amanda for letting us stay in your place and giving us our first awesome airbnb experience!! :)

From the Bronx, NY, now live in Austin, TX. I am a professional dance teacher by passion and work in Global Marketing by trade. I love traveling, dance, movies, and basically exploring new things! I'm a pretty chill host- happy to give advice, scram if you want the whole place to yourself or happy to share if you just want a room. I discovered renting apartments on a recent trip to Europe and I really think it's the best way to go! Plop yourself in the middle of the action (or lack thereof)- but it's the best way to get a feel for the place you're visiting! It's always nice to feel like you're home even if you're away from home! I put a lot into making my place feel like a home- probably because it's my home!
