Hostel Earphoria is a unique guesthouse in Logan Square Chicago, specifically designed for musicians. We have transformed an entire house into an urban rest stop for musicians on the road, giving them a space to stay, play, practice, record, collaborate and perform.
Hostel Earphoria is a single family home with 10 (website hidden) spaces, 5 private rooms and one bathroom. There is a community kitchen, living room, dining area, finished basement, back yard and deck.
Staying at Hostel Earphoria:
In addition to contacting us through Airbnb, we also request that introduce yourself to the community by posting a message on Hostel Earphoria's timeline on Mark Zuckerberg's popular social network. Tell us where you are from and what brings you to Chicago and when, how you are involved in music (we love audio-video links), and what you are looking forward to during your visit. We will reply promptly and let you know if we are able to accommodate your request. If you have a time sensitive request you may inquire via phone/text to Ben at (phone number hidden).
If you are looking for the formal experience you would enjoy in a hotel, Hostel Eaphoria is not for you. We are for those that are more "adventure travel" oriented, who want to learn about the communities they pass through and be a part of the real Chicago music scene.

Hostel Earphoria offers several spaces for collaborating:
Featuring an upright antique piano, acoustic guitars and several percussion instruments and an iMac with Logic and Final Cut for audio/video recording/editing. The PLAYroom is the perfect space for low-fi jams and impromptu performances. You'll often find musicians jamming together or DJ-ing. For the visual artists, an easel and supplies is provided. Our walls are filled with paintings and drawings done by the community.
The basement is a multi-functional room that serves as a shared performance space, practice area, recording studio and sleeping space. It is set up like a lounge with a stage at back with 6 couches and a very comfortable giant bean bag. There are plush carpets on the floor which makes everything cozy. To the back there is a 30x10 carpeted floor stage with low 5.5 celling. Bands are welcome rent the Bassment for rehearsal from 12pm-10pm (no drums/base after 10pm on weeknights and 12am on weekends).
Our lovely outdoor space in the back has a small deck and yard. There is a garden that provides the house with fresh vegetables. Hang in the hammock or sit in the grass. A small bungalow with seating under the deck surrounds an "easy to load gear in" entrance. Designated smoking areas away from our neighbors windows. This is open from 8am-12am on weeknights and 2am on weekends (no drums after 10pm).
Visiting Hostel Earphoria
Earphoria is a private space and quests must be invited to come in. We often have shows, usually every Saturday. Please take a look at our calendar and friend earphoria.earphoria on Mark Zuckerbergs popular social network so that we may invite you to future events.
Unique place and great people. Always someone singing, humming or playing guitar during the day. Very relaxed and peaceful house. Thank you for sharing your space with me!
I had a great time. At the last minute my friend decided to come with and Jules graciously said that was fine. If you love music this is the place for u-saturday night concerts, in house practice sessions, and impromptu jams. Comfy couches, offered to share food, and easy access to public transit. They also know fun places in the area to go. Would recommend for sure.
It's MAGIC. Immersed in a musical experience. I strongly recommend it to all musicians and listeners. It's great. People are great. What more can one ask for?
Perfect for a chicagoan experience with new talents, not perfect for those who prefer to be alone at home.
I'm not totally sure if I ever met Jules haha I was there on a weekend so there were a lot of people in and out. Even though there were so many people, everyone was super nice and trusting. They helped me out a lot and provided me with anything I needed. Very nice crowd! If you don't mind sleeping on a comfy couch in a room with some pretty cool people, this is the place for you.
Love this place! Ideally situated. It is almost directly across from a Dunkin Donuts and a couple of blocks from a McDonalds and the CTA(Chicago Transit Authority) sub station. Perfect for a guy like me. I basically just needed a place to crash since I was gone by 6 am and usually came back by 9pm (work). Next time I hope to get to know some of the crew a bit better. Enjoyed the stay.
I stayed in the hostel a couple of nights with 3 friends, as a musician it was a very inspiring experience, we could jam a little bit and hear what everybody else was doing. The guys living there are very friendly, i would come back if I go to Chicago again
An awesome experience and great people. The hosts and other guests made me feel like I was one of the group and it just seemed like I was staying over at a friend's house on a Saturday. Excellent location for public transit and some cheap and greasy food nearby if you're hungry. Would definitely stay again.
Great hostel and people! My go to place when I visit Chicago.
Earphoria is definitely something to get inspired by.
Hostel Earphoria has a great price and great community. I found the housing comfortable (usually, for an individual it's a couch with a clean towel, sheets, and a pillow w/ case) and they gave me a really nice welcome. I dig their vision to provide musicians and listeners with a place to collaborate and crash!
