The apartment is located very centrally in the Holborn / Chancery Lane area, in between the West End and the City. All major Central London attractions are within walking distance, and so are public transports (5 minutes walk to Chancery Lane station on the Central Line, 8 minutes walk to Holborn station from where you can take the Piccadilly Line directly to Heathrow). In addition, the apartment is only a few minutes walk from the borders of the Thames and the Northbank promenade. Finally, location is also ideal for professionals, with numerous law firms, investment banks or accounting firms within walking distance.
The apartment is on the 5th floor (without elevator) and is therefore very bright with sunlight from morning to evening (partially also through velux windows on the ceiling). It is 52m2 in size (about 550 square feet), sleeps 4 people, and consists of one large, very quiet bedroom (with large built-in wardrobes - please note that one of them is locked as it contains some of my stuff), one brand new bathroom with bathtub and rain shower, one brand new kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and breakfast bar as well as a living room with sofabed, flat screen TV and electronic piano. Free wifi is also available.
I will also welcome you with a free bottle of your choice - prosecco, white wine or red wine.
Finally, I offer a free one-day gym pass per guest for stays over a week. Weekly gym passes can be arranged for a fee on request.
- No excessive noise between 11pm and 7am please!
- Preferably take off your shoes when inside the apartment.
- Don't overload the washing machine - half full should be the maximum.
- Do not attempt to access the roof
- Please use the recycling bin for paper, cardboard, cans as well as plastic bottles and container (full description can be found on bin)
- If you want to get rid of garbage, please leave it on the pavement outside the building ideally between 5 and 7pm on weekdays only
- Close all windows when leaving the apartment.
- Make sure the building's main door is properly shut when leaving the building.
- Make sure the apartment's door is locked when leaving the apartment.
Many thanks and enjoy your stay!
A wonderful apartment in great location with good amenities and friendly and generous hosts. Can easily recommend it. Yes the 5 flights of stairs are a pain with luggage but that is the only negative.
The beds were comfortable and the apartment was very clean and presentable.
The appartement is just like described, it's really big, very nice and comfortable and absolutely clean. We really enjoyed staying there. It's three minutes close to public transport and a shopping area. You reach London downtown easily. Stephan is the nicest host you can imagine. He doesn't only care about you before you reach London (he sends you information about everything you might need - sightseeing, transport, luggage), if necessary he also cares while you are there. Due to a fire in the neighbourhood we didn't have any power for a day. Even though it really wasn't Stephan's fault he sent us chocolate, wine, even a refund an all the information we needed. Excellent! Thanks again! The only thing you should know is that you have to overcome 85 steps before you can open the flat's door! Our children loved it, some elder people might think diffrent about it.
Thanks so much, Susanne, for your really kind feedback and review. I do appreciate it. It was a pleasure to be your host - and thanks so much for your patience in dealing with the area-wide power outage! Also, I am glad to hear your children enjoyed the stairs! Thanks again and please do come back soon.
The most kind host!! Perfect location, perfect apartment!
Cool apartment located right in the heart of the Legal District of London. Easy accessible to the Tube and 25 min walk into Oxford Street its the perfect location to be in. Apartment was fully equipped with all the details, Oyster Card and even a Sim Card to top up to use.
Stephan was easy to deal with and email communications with him was prompt, detailed and friendly. He goes above and beyond including sending us a card with wine and chocs mid-week through our week long stay. The apartment is exactly as the photos and very cosy and comfortable for the 3 of us. We loved the location being in a lively neighbourhood, walkable to everything you need i.e. shops, pubs, transportation and tourist sites. Will not hesitate to recommend to those looking for a centrally located, good sized fully equipped apartment. The only catch is you need to be fairly fit or do not mind stairs as you'll need to climb up 84 steep and narrow steps to the 5th floor.
Thanks very much Lilian. It is very nice to hear you enjoyed the apartment and the area, and it was a real pleasure to welcome you in London. Well done for counting the steps! We hope to welcome you back soon. Thanks again for your visit and for taking the time to write such a kind and helpful review.
We had a great experience being hosted by Stephan, he was more than accommodating, concise with his communication and prompt with his responses to my queries.
The apartment was in a great location, was clean and exactly as advertised in the pictures, and the bottle of Cava in the fridge was a nice touch.
We cannot fault either the apartment or Stephan as a host.
We experienced only two tiny issues with my stay and neither were in under Stephan's control so I mention them only for the sake of allowing others to know in advance rather than as a 'negative'.
The first was that there was no lift and the flat is on the 5th floor on quite a tight staircase, this itself was not an issue even though we had large bags but we were somewhat surprised because this wasn't something we knew about in advance.
The second was the building works that woke us 8am on Monday morning with some volume. A new building is being built right outside the bedroom window and again that came as somewhat of a surprise.
Thanks for taking the time to write an exhaustive review, Dan! It was a real pleasure to welcome you in London. It is nice to hear you had a great experience with us and that you enjoyed the apartment. I would, however, strongly encourage you to read the apartment descriptions before booking one, as well as the previous reviews. The fact that the apartment is on the 5th floor without lift is well flagged both in the description (second paragraph, first line) as well as regularly mentioned in the reviews. Many guests see it as their complimentary daily workout! I am also sorry to hear that the construction works (also mentioned in previous reviews) bothered you - however central London is absolutely full of them right now, and you may well encounter them wherever you stay in Zone 1, be it in a hotel or another apartment. There are strict regulations and timetables regarding noise levels, and I am sorry that it did excessively bother you. Last but not least, it is worth reminding you that you stayed at the apartment for an unbeatable weekend rate of 84 GBP per night (in a one bedroom flat in central London!), which well reflects the two minor issues which bothered you; and which, by the way, are both things which I really am absolutely not responsible for and which cannot be changed. I challenge you to find better value for money! Thanks again for staying with us.

I love travelling and therefore want to make sure my guests have a fantastic experience too.
I split time between London and Berlin but also enjoy travelling to other major cities or some remote destinations.... this could be in the mountains or somewhere on a beach.
I also like reading, writing, music, going out, working out and eating well!
