Nestled in Nogal, NM, this historic adobe home was built using materials from Walker Army Air Force Base, where the 1947 Roswell UFO wreckage was taken. A UFO was witnessed here in 2000, adding to its mystery. With clear night skies, UFO lore, and stunning desert views, this secluded retreat blends history, mystery, and tranquility. Did you know that Casita Mística, our charming adobe retreat at El Místico Ranch, is constructed using 95% materials salvaged from the historic Walker Army Air Force Base (WAAFB)?  This base, located near Roswell, New Mexico, is famously associated with the 1947 Roswell Incident, where a mysterious object—often referred to as a “flying saucer”—allegedly crashed, with debris and purported alien bodies reportedly taken to WAAFB for examination. 

By incorporating these materials into Casita Mística, we’ve imbued our property with a tangible connection to this enigmatic chapter of history. Staying here offers not just a serene escape but also a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the lore of one of the most intriguing UFO stories ever told.

Chester not only brings warmth and joy to our guests but also plays an important role in taking care of the property. He roams around the ranch, ensuring that everything is in order and providing a sense of security to our guests. Sometimes, he even accompanies guests to their units to ensure they arrive safely.

Guests have full access to Casita Mística, including its enclosed backyard, hammock area, fire pit, and grill (firewood available for purchase). Enjoy the children’s playground and explore the ranch trails while respecting other guests’ privacy. This pet-friendly unit welcomes furry companions (pet fee applies). Self-check-in is available with a gate and door code provided one day before arrival. Parking is available in front of the unit. We recommend reviewing check-in instructions in advance for a smooth arrival.

It is nice and quite getaway from the city situated next to Lincoln National Forest. Where you can experience Nature with our frequent deer and elk visitors. Also visit our natural spring waters running through the bottom of our canyon. Nogal Peak offers ser wrap trails for hiking.
