Nanan made me feel welcome even before I got there with her helpful texts. The Newport room was quiet, comfortable and extremely clean. It's in an interesting neighborhood that felt safe walking alone at night. On my second day, I was sick, and Nanan brought me soup! She is truly a house mother, and a lovely host.
I will definitely stay there again!
What a nice place! My room was exactly the same as I had seen it on photos and even better! It was sunny and very cozy. I stayed on the second floor where were my bedroom, and also a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room. There were another guests on the third floor, but I hardly ever saw them because I left home early in the morning and came back late (I had my own key, so it wasn't a problem).
Nanan and Chris are the great hosts! They are so friendly and hospitable. From the first minute I had all the information I needed about the city, the places of interest, all maps (various tourist maps, the system map and the subway map) and lots of booklets, which Nanan gave me.
The neighbourhood is very peaceful, you can walk at night and feel absolutely safe. There are lots of cafes and groceries and little shops on Broadway which is close to the house. Bus stops are also very close to the house, but if you don’t want to waste your time waiting for the bus you can walk to the Davis T-Station (Red Line) on foot which takes about 20 min.
During my 7-day stay in Boston I visited almost all interesting places and museums Nanan told me about. One of the most amazing and unforgettable things I’d done was a ferry cruise to Boston Harbor Islands (Spectacle, Georges, and Peddocks). Thank you, Nanan, for your advice! Boston is a fascinating city, and I spent a great time there, and I’m grateful to Nanan and Chris for the wonderful stay! If someday I happen to visit Boston again I know which place will be the best to stay in! :))
Nanan and her husband Chris were very welcoming. The neighborhood is great and the guest accommodations comfortable and clean.
We had a wonderful stay at Nanan and Chris. They were very sweet and helpful to get around. We had entire floor to our self with a kitchen and a living room. It was very comfortable. Thanks Nanan and Chris
Lovely hosts, great housemates, beautiful. clean, quiet space. Bedroom very large and clean and well appointed. I totally understand why Nanan's guests stay for a long time! If we are again in Medford, we will definitely come back.
Staying with Nanan and Chris was wonderful. We felt safe and cared for, and the room and house was comfortable, clean with everything one might need being available. Nanan was the perfect host and Chris was full of information and even took us to our next destination in Boston. If we had had more time we would have liked to know the Coughlins better. We would definitely go back again.
Nanaan and Chris were great hosts while my boyfriend and I searched for a new apartment in the Somerville/Cambridge area. If you are okay with walking (as my boyfriend and I are) the place is in great walking distance to most areas of greater Boston (but there are busses close by for those who don't like walking).
While the Newport Rm is private (comfy, clean, and spacious), you do share the floor with other tenants and guests. While this is slightly inconvenient as some times, I think for the affordable price its a non-issue. The other tenants when I stayed were from all over the world and very interesting and kind people.
Most of all, Nanan and Chris are very welcoming and helpful hosts. Can't recommend them enough!
