SeaHaven s the perfect spot to tour the Beara peninusla. From the house one there are lovely walks locally and further afield such as Alihies through the copper mines. But also there are and beautiful places to visit within 10 to 60 minutes by car. Nearest to the house is Eyries village (1.5km) which is a colorful and well kept village which you pass through on your way to the beach. Travara Pier and amenities are worth a visit with a beach , playground and tiolet amentiies
On the CastletownBere side many enjoy visiting Dunboy castle and Puxley and the walks around the headland.
Castletownbere is a fishing port so do take a stroll around the town. If your are interested in a fishing trip or a boat trip there are many options to chooses from in CastletownBere or Eyries. There is a regular Ferry to Bereisland on which you can bring your car and spend the day. There are many resaturants and cafes in the town . Onwards towards Allihies one can visit Dzogchen Beara, a Buddhist retreat centre situated on top of the cliffs and open to visitors. It has a cafe and regular meditations sessions open to visitors.
Further on one can visit Garnish and Dursey sound where Irelands Only cable car is in operation. Choose a fine day and spend the day on Dursey Island where only two families now live. There is also the option of a boat ride out to the Bull rock (highly recommend) from garnish pier. When you return a visit to garnish beach for a swim or picnic will indeed be memorable. Onwards to Allihies to visit the copper mines , Ballydonegan beach and spend some time in the local cafes, pub or restaurants. Keep driving from Allihies over the mountain pass to Eyries. Spectacular views all the way.
