The Carriage House was just as the pictures showed. Very clean and comfortable. The garden leading into the entrance is adorable. Julia & Peter were exceptional hosts. We suggest the Carriage House to a couple or a single person looking to see the sights in Portland.
Julia and Peter were great hosts, making us feel welcomed in their cute space in Libbytown. The carriage house apartment is clean, bright, and equipped with everything we needed for a weekend stay. With most of Portland's restaurants and attractions within a 10 minute drive, I recommend to those looking to explore the city.
Julia and Peter were amazing. They greeted us with freshly baked cookies, as described in other reviews, and were friendly and knowledgable about the area. The space was very clean and perfect for two. The location near downtown was great for exploring. We very much enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it to others!
We loved this charming, cozy room. Everything was so clean and we were provided with everything we could possibly need from toiletries to fresh baked cookies upon arrival. Julia and Peter were so helpful and provided us with maps to the city and suggestions on where to go. The neighborhood was quiet and very close to Old Port. We loved staying here!
Our stay at the Carriage house was lovely and meet all our expectations. Everything is like it was described and even more !
We came here as a group of 4 people and the house was very convenient, both beds were comfortable and the bathroom was also good. The coffee maker was good and Julia and Peter provide several tastes for coffee, tea and chocolate.
And also home made cookies ! These cookies could be the only reason that you have to come here ! We will definitely come back here when coming back to Portland !
The Carriage House was fabulous! Peter and Julia were wonderful. They greeted us warmly, gave us a map of the area and showed us around the space. We had everything we needed from soft and fluffy bathroom towels to microwave, coffee-maker and coffee and teas. There was a heater for the chilly nights; shower was great. I highly recommend the Carriage House and will definitely go back next time I'm in Portland.
Fabulous host, welcomed us as we drove into the drive way. Julia showed us upstairs into the apartment that had everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay including fresh home made biscuits.
It's not really walkable into town unless you are happy to walk a couple of miles.
About the Host, Julia & Peter
We love walking/biking/kayaking and are attempting a summer of fishing up on the lakes.
Enjoy whisking off for a quick trip to Boston by train for a day trip or splurge on an overnight stay.
We have the best of the best here in Portland. A walk into town for a morning at the museum, many choices for lunch in the afternoon. A possible boat ride/ferry ride in the afternoon, then watch the sunset while sipping a cocktail on the oceanfront. Ahhhh, bliss :-)
