We have restored a 100 year old barn as a family retreat. We have 125 acres remote/ secluded property including walking trails, ponds, overlook. Our property has second floor covered deck with gas fireplace, comfortable couch and rocking chairs. Newly remodeled barn with 1 Kitchen, 2 Bathrooms/1 showers/1 tub. Master bedroom/bath, library/ history. Outdoor fire ring. Very remote and peaceful, WIFI if you need it, forest and ponds if not! Excellent Snow shoeing, cross country skiing, hikes.

The space
Remodeled three story 100 year old Barn. Completely remodeled with electric, water, heating and air-conditioning. Second floor Gatto Master bedroom, Hithcon Great room with sleeper sofa (queen) and private bath/shower. Gatto master bedroom (Queen) with private bath (Claw foot tub/shower). Common Kitchen area on second floor with dining room table seats 8, library and private entrance. You have access to 125 acre property for hiking on 3 miles of walking trails, bird watching, Photography, Snow Shoeing, cross country skiing. We are a certified Monarch Butterfly Waystation/Monarch Watch #32865. We maintain 48 ground mounted solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint. Rain water collection supports our garden to table offering in season. Bring your own protein and pick fresh vegetable in season to enjoy while you stay. The property was the retreat of world famous author John Taylor Gatto and his wife Janet. You can enjoy the legacy of John & Janet Gatto during your stay. You'll never want to leave.

Guests can enjoy the entire 125 acres of property during their stay for hiking, cook outs using our BREO fire pit. We have two large outside decks on both the second floor covered and a common side deck for your enjoyment that is exposed. Great for grilling and outdoor BBQ. Views from all decks are exceptional and offer a unique place to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine to relax. Our property offers a stream with cascading waterfalls and gorge, trails that take you deep into the forest and the over look with fantastic views for sunrises and star gazing.

Other things to note
The property is very remote on a seasonal road that is maintained from April 1 until December 1 by Preston Township. We offer high speed FIOS internet if needed with exceptional down load speeds. WIFI in lodge and office cabin.

This is a very remote rural farm property located on a seasonal road. The property borders the McDonough State Forest. Bowman Lake State Park is 1.8 miles away and is a simple drive. Markets, shops and convenience stores less than 10 miles by car.
