My beautiful house dates from 1875 and is 5 minutes walk from the centre of town in a quiet conservation area. It has a private entrance and it's own garden with a patio area.
The room itself is a spacious double room with a king size bed, sofa bed, wardrobe ,chest of drawers and a round table that extends into an oval table. The price includes towels and bedding and broadband, fuel and local taxes. The room also has a very pleasant view over the garden from the large bay window. You will have access to my well equipped kitchen/living room. If you have a car , you can unload your bags in my drive and there's lots of free parking 1 minutes' walk from my house
This room does not have its own private bathroom, but it shares a bathroom with just one other bedroom ( The other two bedrooms have their own ensuite bathrooms.)
The Playwright Restaurant,is , in my opinion, the best restaurant in Dundee. If you book for lunch or around 6pm the prices are very reasonable for an excellent meal and great service. The Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre is a short walk away, and hosts exhibitions from international artists, and also runs courses and workshops, and has two cinemas which show the best foreign films, and some great classics as well. The cinemas have been recently refurbished and now regularly show performances from the Met and the National Theatre in (website hidden) Andrews is 20 minutes away by car and is the home of golf with the famous Old Course and a fine seafood restaurant and places you can go for a high tea. Nearby there are picturesque little fishing villages like Crail and Anstruther where you can buy fresh crabs and lobsters directly from the fishermen.
Abertay university is five minutes away on foot and Dundee university is 15 minutes away.

Kathleen is a great host! She was very welcoming, kind and helpful.
The house is very nice in a pretty and quiet area, not far from the city centre. The room is clean and comfortable, with a very nice and private bathroom!
Kathleen was a very welcoming host and the room is lovely and spacious - and even sunny in the middle of winter! Only a short walk from the centre of Dundee. We had a great time here and definitely recommend staying again.
Kathleen made me feel vey welcome indeed and went through the through the trouble of hanging new wallpaper before arrived. She has a very spacious home and I had free access to the kitchen for cooking meals. Unfortunately, I came down with influenza during my time in Dundee, and I was forced to remain in bed for much of the time. Hopefully I didn't test her patience too much with my coughing and sneezing.
Kathleen upgraded us to a room with our own bathroom in arrival which was lovely. The house is old with lovely high ceilings, I believe is currently in renovation as there was some clutter. It is also at the top of a big hill so definitely get a taxi to and from train station and make sure you are good to walk into town. Although the setting is a lovely big house the set up is of a hostel with a few other quests sharing the spaces. Kathleen is very nice, open and chatty.
I didn't stay at this airbnb in the end. Kathleen is very friendly and quirky and she actually lives upstairs in the flat above. She has many rooms downstairs some that with live in lodgers. I was looking for more of a home from home and didnt want to be sharing facilities with so many people. Unfortunately, I guess we all have different standards and I didnt feel that it was very clean well not for the standards that I prefer. This maybe because she has so many other people staying there at times though. It wasnt the place for me though.
Kathleen was extremely helpful. She listened to my request to accommodate my father and I in a room with easy access to a bathroom. She upgraded us to an ensuite when it became available which met our needs perfectly. The room was comfortable and could have been cleaner. Kathleen was also extremely flexible in meeting last minute requests I had to accommodate my sister.
My first sight of the property was a bit disheartening as it was dark and it looked a bit like a building site. Which of course is good that the property is being maintained just a bit surprised as it had not been what I expected to see.

I think the most important thing in life is to never say anything to another person that could not stand as the very last thing you ever said to that person and that friendship is the most important thing in life.
