This property is a lovely bungalow in a residential area. It's a older house that's been graciously restored by the owners. Rooms are comfortable, living area is charming with a nightly fireplace and dining area is functional. The kitchen is a "working kitchen" designed for the resident cook and helper. The herb garden is simply wonderful. The staff is friendly though do not speak any English except Marcus the resident manager. Marcus is affable and always around, willing to help and eager to strike a conversation. Prema, the cook is delightful and a very warm lady - I enjoyed cooking with her - in the kitchen the language is universal. Nam, her husband who is the helper is a quiet modest gentleman and around to help out. In a day or so, the staff grows on you. Prema can prepare mostly Sri Lankan dishes though ok to make some simple western cuisine as well. With just a little effort and enthusiasm the staff can create good dining experiences (eg Nam even figured out that I like the plates warmed in the oven before serving). Prema made an amazing leek soup one evening with a simple recipe I gave her and the fresh leeks and herbs came from the garden. The rooms are comfortable and there is ample space - simple and neat for the most part and the owners have tried to retain original furnishings, art, books as much as possible. The linens and bathroom amenities, though adequate could use an upgrade. One tip for hot water - do inform Marcus about half hour before taking a shower; they seemed to be turning off the main switch for some reason. It's delightful to use the fireplace each night in the living room, have a drink, play some games, read or have a conversation with friends and family. We're a family of 4 with adult children and was a great way to spend time here together. The area near the property is not the best - there are some new disorganised housing development close by and normally would not bother you unless going for a walk or to the market from the property. Advisable to have a car + driver to get around in the area. (there is room for the driver to sleep in the bungalow). However, there are wonderful things to do around the location: -Grand Hotel for a nice traditional colonial dinner -Gregory Lake is ok, if you can avoid the crowds -Day trip to Ella for hiking and exploring is excellent -Early morning trip to Horton Plains -Lunch at Heritance Tea Factory -...or simple hang out at the property for R&R Would certainly recommend the property, allow yourself to know the staff and area, enjoy the area and weather. We'd surely come back again if we had the chance. Thank you.

Our stay at the Senani bungalow was fabulous! The place and service we received exceeded our expectation. Firstly the manager Mr Marcus was very helpful in making our stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible, he was prompt in picking us up and assisted to buy all the groceries needed for our meals making it very convenient for us. The lady who cooks, Mrs Prema is an awesome cook and we enjoyed every meal she cooked for us. Her roast chicken and potatoes were out of this world and a must try. Her husband was very helpful in getting the fire place going for us every night.

We have a good stay in the house. We arrived at about 5pm. The temperature is about 15 degree Celsius. However, when we saw the flowers, the garden, the house, auntie and uncles, we felt very warm. The house is Old English style. It has a finest fireplace which we like it very much. The staffs, auntie and uncles are very enthusiastic and give help to us. We will choose it again if we come again.
