Nice and cosy guestroom (it is just one room and not a complete apartment!!!) in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg. The guestroom is part of the flat where i live too. it is situated in the Oranienstraße next to Adalbertstraße which is famous for alternative living. You will find a lot of bars, restaurants, exotic take-away-food and shopping locations. even at late night.
The subway station Kottbusser Tor is just a 2 minutes walk away. From there you can reach Alexanderpaltz in 5 minutes. A bus station is in front of the door. After a 10 minute walk you can enjoy the pretty rivers Landwehrkanal and Spree. The guestroom is very quiet and sunny. From the room and the balcony you have a nice view to a lot of trees and the neighborhood buildings. The guestroom has a bed for 2 persons (140x200cm) and is euqipped with television, internet, fridge, microwave, watercooker, cups, dishes ... You can use 2 city-bikes (deposit 50 Euros each) for free. but without guarantees. sometimes they are broken down or got stolen. The bathroom and the balcony is shared with the owner of the apartment. He speaks english, spanish and german. you won´t find a more central host in Berlin Kreuzberg.
Karl is a really cool person and a great host! Directions to his place were perfect. The area around the apartment is awesome! So many bars and restaurants to visit. The metro is close by, but we walked almost everywhere within 30 minutes.
The room is spacious and we liked having storage areas for our clothes. Also there's a desk, microwave, and refrigerator in the room which all came in handy.
Karl was fun to talk to and he also gave us our space, so it felt like home.
We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Karl!
Karl was a wonderful host, whose home was a privilege to stay in. As well as being incredibly hospitable, Karl is a genuine, kind, and funny man, who we wish we could have spent more time with. He is both considerate of personal space, and also great conversation, having lent us some invaluable tips and genuine recommendations for our future travels. He even stayed up late to greet us despite our arrival delay, and carried our heavy bags. We cannot recommend Karl enough as a host, and would love to stay in his home again the next time we're in Berlin.
The room itself has a great charm about it, and is well depicted in all of the photos, satisfying our every need in our 3 day stay. It is well located in the trendy Kreuzberg and the transport links are as good as any in Berlin.
Whilst the streets of Kreuzberg are a lively place during the evenings, Karl's home retains a welcoming calm that I'm sure other travellers we appreciate as much as we did.
Thank you Karl!
We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Karlheinz's place. The room was exactly as described and the place was clean and comfortable. We were offered choices of coffee each morning, which was a nice bonus. We slept great as the area was really quiet, even though it is in a busy area with tons of shops and restaurants around. We definitely recommend this room for anyone looking to stay in Berlin.
El edificio está en un lugar excelente, el cuarto es como se ve, todo muy limpio y ordenado. Karl estuvo siempre dispuesto a ayudarme con direcciones y consejos, recomiendo!!
Karl was at home when I arrived, he graciously carried my suitcase upstairs and showed me how everything worked. There was a TV, microwave and fridge in my room, and a coffee machine & tea & coffee making facilities in the hallway. The shared bathroom was very well equiped with washing machine, etc but as I was only there for 3 nights I didn't get to use the facilities.
The pot plant by the bed int he picture did not survive a dark winter with guests closing the curtains all the time, but spring was in the air when I was there, and a small sapling was bursting into life in the pot.
My favorite thing about the room was the east-facing window through which the mornign sun came, and I got a good view of an almost-full moon as well.
The location being right in the heart of Kreuzeberg within walking distance to so many food and Entertainment options was balanced by it being in an inner courtyard, set back enough from the road not to notice the traffic noises. In fact I was entertained by the song of a nightinggale most nights I was there.
Great value for money for my semi-working holiday, I was quite productive working on my laptop at the desk in the room.
Perfect position, in the best neighbourhood in Berlin! Karl was very nice to us! :) See you soon!
