  • Fantastic stay from start to finish! We were greeted by Guz, who gave us a tour of the apartment, complete with a bottle of wine & coffee. Then Liz appeared with freshly baked brownies - not only that, Guz took us to do our grocery shopping in Nice. The best airbnb hosts we have encountered by far! The apartment, while simple, has everything you need and is only a few minutes walk to the port darse & the beach there, or a ten minute walk around the citadel into the main area of town. Lovely little outdoor terrace where we enjoyed our meals & watched the cruise ships come in & out. Up a long staircase to the main road for busses to Nice & Monaco - while it's a steep climb, it's a good way to burn off croissants & wine! We very much enjoyed our stay & hope to return! Thanks for having us!

  • This is such a charming, fantastic place!! Beautiful tiled floors, comfortable bed, windows that open completely, an outdoor covered patio where we spent much time in the evenings reading and drinking wine. The interior does not get direct sun so stays pretty cool. This is not a luxury apartment...this is a comfortable apartment. Just our style. We loved it. Guz and Liz are exceptional hosts. The apartment is in the harbor, a lovely short walk from town central and the many great restaurants. We took advantage of the washing machine several times and our clothes dried quickly on the lines in the warm sun.
We truly loved our stay here and recommend it.

  • If you want to fulfill your fantasy of pretending to live in the South of France, a la Picasso, Matisse & Jean Cocteau, etc., book the Bohemian flat with Guz and Liz! They are incredibly hospitable hosts, which began with Guz offering to pick up my mate at the airport, followed by a ride to the grocery store to load up on groceries! That, is a proper welcome!
Just a few minutes walk to the Village, the Marina and the beach, I found myself spending hours in the garden, sipping coffee in the morning, wine in the evening, admiring the overgrowth of lavender, sage, camomile, and other herbes de Provence.
For a week, I felt part of the family, with them bringing me fresh bread in the morning, offering a great tour of the region - and countless interesting tips and conversations.

  • We would highly recommend this apartment to other people seeking accommodation. Guz and Liz were very welcoming and helpful. We were very rested by the end of the week. Guz picked us up and dropped us to the airport. this was a big plus for us as we have two young children. Gnerally public transport is very good and cheap - but taxis are not. At the apartment there were toys for our children. There is an enclosed garden (with sea views). Our kids enjoyed mixing with Guz and Liz's two boys. It was out first time to this area of France. We hope to return as there is more to see.

  • We stayed in Villefranche for a week. Upon arrival we were greeted by lovely Liz, who had arranged a proper welcome, with some wine, sodas and snacks that she had put in the fridge. Both she and her husband Guz were very helpful with tips on what to do in the neighbourhood, but respected our privacy as well. Gustav very kindly drove us to a wedding we attended in nearby St Jean Cap Ferrat.

We spent a few days discovering the surrounding area and sweet medieval village on foot and took an adventurous hike along the Villefranche bay towards Nice. We also visited nearby Monte Carlo by train, but you could just as easily have taken a bus which leaves every 20 minutes.
    .
The beach three minutes from the appartment is a pebble beach, as are most in Southern France, it is ideal for a swim to cool off or a late night dip. An easy ten-minute walk will take you to sandy beaches as well. There is really a view of the bay from the garden of the appartment. We practically had cruiseships at the front gate.

The Bond film 'Never Say Never Again' was filmed nearby. Guz gave us a portable dvd-player to watch the movie. Great evening on the terrace of the appartment. The appartment itself is simple but pleasant and spacious, especially compared with (affordable) hotel rooms in the area.

I can highly recommend the appartment if you value your privacy and a little bit of living space and want to see the less tourist side of Villefrance as well. A great local experience.

  • Gustav and Liz are both very nice, generous, interesting and humorous people and we felt over and over that we were so fortunate to have them as our hosts. As well as being welcoming, they are also very respectful of the peace and privacy of their guests. The home is situated just below theirs, but we never heard sounds from upstairs. We enjoyed a few outings with their kayak too, including a gorgeous early morning sunrise that was truly unforgettable! The kitchen was well set-up for cooking (we cooked every day) and the washing machine was excellent; it was very useful (due to the warm weather, clothes would usually dry within an hour!). Bathroom, bedroom, and an additional sitting room were all perfectly fine. Public transportation is very close to the house and affordable, so we enjoyed day trips to Eze, Monaco, and Saint-Raphaël, as well as the Italian food markets in Ventimiglia. We absolutely loved Villefranche. It is a very beautiful, peaceful, and healthy environment. We swam in the dark-teal ocean every day! :)

  • It's hard to find the proper words to describe how amazing time we had in Guz&Liz Villa. They are really rare people, who welcome you as if you were their family. Living literally in quite opposite sides of Europe we found how similar opinions and conclusions we have, people from different backgrounds and experiences, it's really inspiring and gives you that feel, you are really welcomed in their home, with its really uniquely placed villa in a wonderful place like definetely Villefranche sur Mer is. You won't regret when you come there!

  • We had a great time.
Guz and Liz's kids are very nice and very well mannered and were a great company for our son. Thank you!
Guz and Liz were very flexible and helpful (took me to do grocery shopping and took us to the station).
The flat is just right for such a vacation and very well located.
The description is accurate and expectations rightly set.
I would surely advice people to go.
thank you and hopefully see you soon.
