Vacation home Lavande is a beautifully restored farmhouse with swimming pool in the Charente, in the beautiful French landscape on over 4000 m of land.
The private terraces and gardens around the house allow you to enjoy the sun all day, but also have the necessary shade when it is warm.

The swimming pool is shared with gite Hibiscus in July and August. In May, June, September and October, the pool is completely private.

The space
The gite has been beautifully restored in the authentic French style. The stone walls have been perfectly renovated and the original beams are still visible.

Neighborhood highlights

Your holiday home is located on the grounds of Champ Fort, close to the small village of Saint Vallier in the south of the Charente. You're here near the border with the Dordogne. The house is less than 10 minutes from Brossac, and 15 minutes from the Chalais and Montguyon marketplaces. Less than an hour away are the sunflower fields and vineyards of Bordeaux, Cognac, Angouleme, Saint Emilion and Blaye (coast).
In Saint Valiier you can buy and taste the local brandy, pineau and wine (a 10 min walk). Close to the house you can also go quadriving and jet skiing.
In Bardenac is an excellent French restaurant, where you get 7 courses with wine for 13.50 (2016). You can only have lunch there.
Brossac houses a Spar shop, a bakery, drugstore, butcher, bank, post office and 2 restaurants. One of the restaurants is located on the recreational lake with a large beach. In the summer months there are often music programs in the town.
In Chalais is a very popular market, and a 13th century castle the Chateau Talleyrand. Here you will find most of what you need: a supermarket, several shops, restaurants including a gourmet restaurant in Talleyrand Castle, and bars, but also a swimming pool and gym. There is a large weekly traditional French market on Monday morning.
Aubeterre sur Dronne is one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France. You'll be there in 30 minutes. The monolithic church of St Jean, carved entirely into the rocks, is worth a visit. The village is surrounded by restaurants and shops and is nice to taste the atmosphere on a terrace. Downstairs is the river Dronne with its beach and sports activities such as canoeing, kayaking and tennis.

The medieval town of Saint Emillion lies between the rolling hills and vineyards and is the center of the homonymous wine production. The square and the vowel streets house many restaurants and a number of shops where the world famous good wines are sold.
Brantome is the most picturesque town, located in the Dordogne and built on two sides of the Drone. There are a number of craft shops, and restaurants on the quay. You can also take a boat trip. The town is more than worth a trip - you will be there in 75 minutes.
