I can really recommend Alice and her charming apartment. In the middle of Marais, close to the Metro and restaurants. We had a good communication during our stay and Alice recommendations was very valuable.
The flat was perfect for our needs - four girl friends on a weekend trip to Paris. The location was amazing and the standard was good enough (you get what you pay for, and in this case a bit more I think). It felt clean and fresh, but wasn't luxurious. The shower was a bit tricky, and the kitchen was TINY, but it really didn't matter because we had all our meals out. The six stairs wasn't a problem at all for us, not even in the middle of the night :).
Very good location, free parking on weekends in the area, free wifi, ideal for 2 people, but enough for 4 in short stays. Alice was very kind, she left everything ready for the stay. Beatiful neighbourhood, with an open shopping street on sundays. High recommended.
We stayed 3 nights in between Christmas and New Years 2013. The location of the apartment was great and very safe. Lots of little boutiques and cafes and a market to get your grocery essentials. The apartment was quiet and located on the 6th floor. No elevator, so even for very fit people like us, a bit of a challenge to get a suitcase up there. The apartment is tiny, the kitchen was 2 x 6 feet big. 2 stove cooking tops next to a tiny sink. Difficult to prepare meals but doable.
The shower is challenging, I was unable to let our 8 and 10 year old girls take a shower on their own as the water temperature is either too hot or to cold. The bathroom was not very clean and even though it was very small also, there was a small cabinet for cleaning supplies under the sink that took up even more room.
The bed was comfortable. It is listed as a 4 person place and can be comfortable enough when travelling with small children, but I would not recommend it for 2 adult couples.
The front entrance is impossible and we stood outside more than once patiently trying to open the door. The key needs to fit just right. We were not the only ones with this problem as on day # 2 somebody else had broken off the key in the lock and nobody could get in. We never saw Alice, but she send an Australian coworker to meet us. The exchange of keys is prompt and seamless. We travel a lot and mainly stay in apartments. In the last year alone we travelled to 5 different countries and stayed in 7 different places. This was our poorest choice of all, given price and other guidelines we use, nevertheless quiet and convenient.
Indeed a perfect location. The apartment is a garret on the 6th floor of a walk up, so be prepared to carry your luggage. It is clean and very simple. Alice is helpful and provides a useful apartment info and a Paris guide.
The place was great. Fantastic location, we walked all over central Paris. Lovely boutique stores, cafes, squares and bars nearby. Ten minutes in a taxi from Gare du Nord so easy to get there and close to Saint-Paul metro. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We had every meal out but could have cooked something simple. Very comfortable bed and lush feather duvet! Thanks, Alice! x
Great location and the stairs definitely helped to keep the pounds off from all the French pastries :-) Alice arranged for someone to meet us with the keys and answer any questions so getting settled was easy and check out was as well. All was as described and we enjoyed our stay.
the appartement is really good located in the marais. The 6. Floor is hard to manage, but you dont need a fitness program.
Everything was good organised and Alice was a graet host.
Apartment was amazing, the location was great and Alice was the best host ever! Very attentive and quick to respond to everything we needed.
I highly recommend the apartment and Alice as a host! Thanks for everything Alice xx
