The Space

Great located in the city center in the old Gothic neighborhood the most cosmopolitan and alive area in the city. Lots of trendy restaurants, most of the great museums and buildings of the city like Picasso Museum, five minutes walking to the Barceloneta beach, and nightclubs springing up all over the place. Nearby the Rambla and the City Hall, all the main attractions of the city are near home.

What is more, the apartament is located into the roman walls so it is the oldest part of the city. The small balconies faces to the Pati Llimona. The Pati Llimona is one of the most interesting XIX's century buildings in Barcelona, built using the remains of ancient Roman buildings shows a combination of modern and ancient world ...It is great to walk through the rooms and discover the Roman stone walls. It is also a very active cultural center, and possibly one of the largest community centers in Barcelona. There are always exhibitions, courses, dance ... hey, drop by without having planned and you will always discover a pleasant surprise.

We propose you an ideal stay in a cute vintage decorated double bedroom. Internet conexion, sunny nice living room to chill out, and the perfect kitchen if you want to cook somenthing. An unbeatable proposal for your stay in Barcleona, just steps from the main city attractions.

The oldest section and heart of the city of Barcelona is the Gothic quarter. This section is home to the incredible architecture and culture that marked the middle ages. Here are the palaces and walls first built by the Romans, along with some temples monumental to their once great leaders. It takes approximately 3 hours to walk the Gothic Quarter during the afternoon. In the evening, it may take you much longer, as this is also the home to some of the best bars and nightlife that Barcelona has to offer.
The Gothic Quarter has a little of everything to offer the traveler. If history and architecture are among your interests, this is the place to capture both on film. If clubbing and dancing are part of the vacation, the gothic quarter of Barcelona is vacation paradise.

  • Wonderful, really nice apartment and great location - in the very old city centre, close to main tourist points but quiet and calm, that was very important for me. Easy to find. Esther - is a great host, helpful and nice person! It was pleasure to stay in so cute apartment with her!

  • Esther was a wonderful host. I could not have asked for anything more. This was my first time using Airbnb and Esther made the process so easy. She is very accommodating, allowing my friend to stay on short notice. She welcomed us with open arms and gave us an envelope with a useful map and cards from restaurants she recommended. Her apartment is in a great area. Charming shops and restaurants all around and really close to La Rambla. I stayed during the La Merce festival and I had a blast. The majority of the festivities took place near her apartment. I highly recommend staying with Esther and I will definitely stay there again should I get the chance to visit Barcelona again.

  • Wonderful apartment with great access to the city, quiet and calm area of the gotic. Their friend Pauline took good care of me and showed me around the city a little, very nice!
Only things to consider is that the bed may be a little hard to some people if you're used to sleep on very soft beds, I personally didn't find this to be an issue.

Overall a great experience, well recommended!

  • Very cool little place right in the heart of the action near Las Ramblas/Placa Catalunya. Esther and Eric weren't around, but their friend Pauline was and she was super helpful with regard to finding my way around--to/from the airport, Metro stations, cool things to do. Pauline and I were able to eat/have wine in the flat, which was nice because it saved some money. I definitely felt right at home here, right away. The bathroom situation was fine, with separate toilet and bath. I read a previous review about a problem with the key--that was remedied by the time I was there. The internet situation was definitely bad. However, there was a tea house steps away where you could use a public network. I had trouble making a purchase on that network, though, so keep that in mind. Also, the bed was pretty hard, but I feel like I slept fine anyway. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, so long as you're aware of the internet situation.

  • I didn't get to meet Esther and Eric, but I was welcomed by their friend Pauline. The flat is close to Las Ramblas, but far enough away that I could relax at the end of the day. I love that they have created an envelope filled with a map and suggestions on where to go and what to do. It helped me find my way around better and also go to where mostly locals go. I had a great time in Barcelona and hope to come back again!

  • Room and apartment were very clean and in a decent location. This review may not be the most accurate because when we stayed, Esther was not there, rather her friend Paulina let us in and was staying there as well. My biggest issues with the apartment were that the door key to the building did not work and there was no internet. Now maybe I was just sloppy in bookng a place that didnt have any internet but the door key was a major bummer. Having to struggle with it every single night (and usually wait for another resident to come in/out) got real old real fast. If this place had internet and a door key that worked it would be a great place to stay.

    Response from Esther:

After one year and a half having great Airbnb reviews and sharing the place with nice travelers all over the world this is the first bad opinion written because of a problem with the key, which it was circumstantial.

  • Esther and Eric were on holidays while i stayed in their apartment, it was a shame I did not get the opportunity to meet them as they seem like lovely people. The apartment was perfect! The room itself is light and airy and cool enough for a barcelona summer. The location is ideal, walking distance to the beach, restaurants, cafes and great shopping. I will definitely stay here again! Thanks guys. X

Hi my name is Esther, I live in Barcelona with Eric and our little cat Mixa. I'm Catalan and Eric is from Argentina. We live in an amazing neighborhood, it is the perfect place for travelers, in the city center and close to the beach. I love practicing Yoga and Acroyoga and I’m keen on dancing belly dance, butoh and contact improvisation. I adore Japanese food, black and white pictures , vintage and the Mediterranean. Two writers I love: Marguerite Duras and Jack Kerouac. We are friendly, easygoing and open-minded and we greatly enjoy meeting people from all over the world who come to stay at our apartment. I aim to make your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. If you have any special requirements then please just ask! I am from Barcelona and can give advice on any part of city life and what there is to see here in this fantastic capital city. Welcome to Barcelona!!
