The Space

The room is one of five which make up Manna House Lodge. It is cool and airy and the heat of the Spanish sun seems a long way even though it is just outside the door where you will find your own private, south facing terrace.
It has a large bathroom with a big shower and a large walk-in wardrobe. There is a carefully selected pile of books for you to peruse and a choice of double or twin beds with cosy quilts or cool sheets depending on the time of year. The cool tiles and underfloor heating ensure that the temperature is perfect at any time of the year.

Breakfast can be served on your terrace, on the big terrace or in the dining room.
Whats for breakfast?
It might be muesli or Yoghurt flavoured with home made preserves. Home made bread fresh or toasted; Jamon and Manchego muffins, Drop scones, free range eggs, Tomatoes or mushrooms on toast, griddle muffins. With of course a choice of teas and coffee, and freshly squeezed juices...

We run cooking lessons here so ask when you book to see if there is one going on if you want to join in.

Guest Access

We are a working olive and almond farm and there are about 7 and a half acres to explore with hammocks strategically placed in the terraces for you to relax in. There is a big roof terrace which is available for your use during the day.
There is a shared pool of about 20m square and 1.2m deep
Peace and quiet surrounds you as does the mediterranean, mountains and the Ebro delta and river.
There is a large petanca/boules/pétanque court available for you to use here on the farm.
We offer tapas and paella cooking lessons for couples or more by arrangement.

Interaction with Guests

We live and work on the farm so are on hand if you need us and busy if you don't.
Breakfast is provided for you whenever you want it.

The Neighborhood

The very Spanish seaside resort with marina at l'Ampolla is 15 minutes away with a huge selection of restaurants and bars with something to suit all tastes and pockets. There are little towns and villages all along the coast all with their own character.
We are close to Tarragona and Tortosa: Valencia and Barcelona a train ride away. There is fishing on the sea and in the river, cycle hire available for the easy delta or the challenging mountains. Els Ports nature reserve is about 25 minutes away with all kinds of outside pursuits available there.
This part of Catalonia is steeped in Roman history and the people have a strong regional identity. There are castles and potters, birds galore and all sorts of beaches.
It is a lovely place to visit for a stop over or for a longer break and really get to know the place.

Getting Around

The closest airport is Reus at 45-50 mins, Barcelona is next at just under 2 hours. There are good rail and bus links to local villages but to get to the farm itself you really need a car. there is plenty of parking at the farm. If you stay for a while we have bikes to hire here and there are some great walks.

Other Things to Note

We are off the grid here; water and power are precious.

House Rules

Being in the campo has it's costs! We are completely reliant on solar power at Manna House and our water is from a bore hole. We ask all our guests to check that all the electrical devices are turned off and unplugged if possible and to be economical with the water. Please do not smoke in any of the rooms and take a great deal of care with cigarettes especially during dry times because of the fire risk.
