The Space

Bright modern bedroom with own bathroom and wifi in a monument house that is centrally located (10min walk to Centraal Station) on the trendy Haarlemmerstraat which has won the award for Best Shopping Street in the Netherlands several years in a row.

You will find plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and boutiques just downstairs :

Tibetan, Thai, Portuguese, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish, French, Indian, Movie Theatre (oldest running movie theatre in the Netherlands), Excellent Coffee Places, Cafes, Bars, Wine stores, Fantastic chocolate and cheese stores, Design stores, Clothing stores, Knitting store, and much more ..

We are also only a couple blocks from the lovely weekly Noordermarkt organic farmers/antique market and a short walk from the Anne Frank House. The Jordaan is a lovely neighborhood known for its small streets with many restaurants, bars and cafes. Down the street is Westerpark with all sorts of cafes, restaurants, bars, and cultural events along with lovely little hidden spots to sit in nature.

There is a bike rental place one block away and a bus stop one block away. Centraal station is down the street. We have two OV Chipkaarts (like London's Oyster card) available for your use while you are here which will end up MUCH cheaper than if you were to buy your fare on the bus/tram. They can be topped up a block away at the supermarket or at Centraal Station.

The room has a double bed and is located on the 2nd floor facing the street. The bathroom is next door to the room and will be used only by you. The room is quite private as we are usually in the 1st floor living area most of the time. Included with the room :

Tea / Coffee / Snacks
Light Breakfast ( usually yoghurt / meusli / fruit etc )
Fresh Fluffy Towels
Toiletries ( shampoo / conditioner / soap / toothpaste etc )
Hair Dryer
Maps and Travel Guides
Iron and Washer/Dryer ( available upon request )

I work at home and am happy to help you with any questions you may have about your visit to Amsterdam. We look forward to hosting you!

  • Nadra and Markus are the perfect hosts. This was our experience in staying in a private room (we had only had entire apartments before) and we were really lucky with them. Their house is in a super location, close to everything, very clean and stylish. They served breakfast every day and gave us great insider tips for exploring Amsterdam off the tourist paths. I can only recommend it!!

  • We enjoyed our stay with Nadra and Marcus. The place was bright, clean and the location perfect. The only downside might be the noise level from the street. Nadra and Marcus have been very helpful and had some really good recommendations for us. Also very good: the breakfast with different kinds of fresh fruit every morning - nice touch!

  • Nadra and Marcus were everything would could have asked for as hosts on our trip to Amsterdam. They are very warm and welcoming, and are very willing to help you find the best things to do in town. The flat is very clean and the pictures are an excellent representation of what you'll have available to you. The location is great and easy to find. There is lots of shopping and restaurants, and as they suggested, if you rent a bike, you can easily access all of the wonderful activities and markets around Amsterdam. I highly recommend staying with them!

  • Nadra and Marcus are excellent hosts. They are knowledgeable, friendly, easy going, and fun to talk to. It was really great getting to know them. The room is lovely and bright, and the private shower is also great. The place itself is well situated to explore Amsterdam, and Nadra is wonderful at giving suggestions on things to do. I really enjoyed my stay here.

  • This is a really great place to stay if you want to enjoy Amsterdam. It's situated at a great location, the bedroom is lovely and sunny (just like the photos), and you have access to toilet, shower, washer, dryer, kitchen.

Nadra and Marcus are really pleasant and knowledgeable, and often very helpful. They carried our suitcases up and down the stairs, allowed us to use their printer, gave my girlfriend medicine when she was sick, and provided us with advice on great places to go.

  • Our journey to the Amsterdam would not be complete without our great hosts Nadra and Marcus; they gave us a lot of information and helpful tips. Room was bright, clean and tastfully decorated. We really liked the location as well, worked out perfectly: walking distance to the station, local market nearby, downtown is not far either and there was not much tourist traffic.

They supplied me with delicious breakfasts and coffee, as well as the inside knowledge on Amsterdam's attractions/ parks/ restaurants. Their apartment was lovely, and situated in a vibrant and attractive part of the city. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again.
