Way too expensive (125 Euros) for what is in the end a noisy (ground floor, window facing busy street) small room with poor lightning and a shared cramped no-window bathroom.
It seems Antonella is playing with the prices quite frequently since the room went back to being around 50 Euros after we booked it.
Appart from that I feel bad leaving this review since the rooms are very cleanly maintained and the hosts (which do not include Antonella) are amazing.
the room is nice.
Although the host did her best to make things as nice as possible, this place just isn't really very nice. I have stayed in several Airbnb rentals in Florence in this price range and all were very much better than this one. In this unit for example, the commode is in the shower. This means that when you take a shower the commode gets wet and you're faced with a decision as to whether you're going to use your own the towel to dry off the commode for the next person or leave it as it is.
Also, being on the ground floor at street level, it's quite noisy. This is a young person's neighborhood, and that is the only variable that I would add. If you are a young college student looking to stay in Florence for a few days, this neighborhood might be right for you.
After my 3 nights in this rental, I stayed at another Airbnb rental in Florence for $40 a night that was astronomically better than this one. There are great values in the Airbnb rental universe, some of them a little further out of town, but the Florence bus system is great, & I recommend looking further afield.
Big rooms and great location. Basic accom. NO kitchen (including no kettle fridge or any facilities). Good space for a family of five but I did not feel at home here. Sharing shower with toilet was a pain with kids!
sorry, we did the best, for you to feel at home.
The kitchen and refrigerator, these in fact are not included in your reservation, and the bathroom, the bathroom was always clean, every day.
for us it was nice, having them as guests.
you, are people tidy and beautiful. maybe it was proved necessary to have more comunication.
thank you very much for everything.
We were disappointed by the service offered by Antonella's apartment. Hostess was quite responsive at the point of reservation and requesting for 2 fans, but the day we arrived at Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station, and got a bit lost how to find the buses she stated, I tried to call her twice but she did not pick up calls. Knowing that we arrived this precise date and time (I emailed her our train arrival timing beforehand), she also did not try to return my calls.
When we finally arrived at her apartment, we had a HUGE PROBLEM trying to communicate with her family as they do not speak English (family speaks only Italian, Spanish and Portuguese). We asked if we can use the kitchen but it seemed the mother refused us. The kitchen is always padlocked for family use only.
We had booked this apartment reading the good reviews that breakfast were served on time and breakfast timing was flexible, Antonella is helpful, but we did not expect that this B&B is offered without breakfast now (Be careful to read equipment services provided on the website instead of being misled by previous users' comments). When we asked for hot water every morning to make our own coffee, we received little and not very hot water.
When we have lost out Venice Routard guidebook, I wrote to the hostess asking if she can ask her family to check in our rooms, but she replied snortly that when guests leave, the rooms are cleaned up and everything goes into the trash! I wonder how can a B&B owner not try to be more sensitive and diplomatic in her email reply, nor even try to contact their guests if they find something left behind.
The bathroom cum toilet is small and if you don't close the shower curtain properly, you risk to put water everywhere.
The photos of the rooms are taken at angles which make the rooms look better and prettier.
The only saving grace of this apartment is its location and cleanliness. Rooms and bathroom are very clean. The apartment is accessible by walking 10-15 mins to the Duomo, Galleria Accademia, and about 20 mins to Piazza Michaelangelo, Galleria Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio.
Due to the ultra unresponsiveness, zero reactivity and zero service of this hostess (the only one who seems to speak English but has moved to another city to work now), we do not recommend this apartment unless you only want a relatively cheap and clean room to sleep in.
The location was great and the host very nice. We couldn't speak to each other, but still managed just fine! We would definitely recommend staying here.
The room was nice. The appartment well situared, close to all major tourist spots. The hosts were sweet. We did not get to meet Antonella, but only her caretakers relatives. After being in Milan airbnb appartment where we had access to the whole kitchen, being able to cook our breakfasts, and dinners, it was a change to have a kitchen padlocked all the time. The ladies gave us exceptional access to the fridge which was nice, as we had a toddler with us.
So I'd say, in general, we were happy and satisfied and recommand the place to anyone not needing kitchen access.
Clean room and a very good location. We walked everywhere!
A really clean, and nice place in a good location. Just a 5 minutes walk to the city centre. Antonella is a good host. I couldn't find the place at first but she came out to meet me on the streets. Do stay here when in Florence !
Antonella's place is clean, well positioned and the staff is kind and helpful. Thanks for everithing girls!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
