Interaction with Guests
We live upstairs, our house is very large.
We interact with the guests during their breakfast, that's the time we will answer questions, do bookings and give advice.
But if we are needed, there is a bell, if we're home we are happy to inform you about anything you want to know or give you what you need.
There is nothing we don't like about our neighbourhood.
There is still the village atmosphere, people are very friendly and helpful and the environment is...just like paradise.
We find it hard to go on holiday, there is no better place, really
and it is always lovely weather...
We have not much public transport, but buses go from Cairns airport to our place and there are shuttle buses from our place into town and back.
we like guests to behave as if they are at home.
We don't allow smoking, but if you must, the back of the garden has a nice sitting arrangement and an ashtray
The host canceled this reservation 34 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Although Frieda's small B&B does not look up to much on first appearances, I have nothing but praise for a fantasticly welcoming experience.
This B&B is a little out of town but literally 2 minutes (if that) from the beach. The outside space is welcoming and morning breakfast healthy with plenty of local produce.
Frieda and Colin were both incredibly helpful and able to answer any questions. We were greeted on arrival with a cool glass of OJ and instantly felt relaxed.
The rooms (especially bathrooms) are a little dated but this did not take away from a lovely relaxed experience courtesy of some fantastic hosting
My daughter & I loved put job at Friedas beautiful home. So many lovely touches & I can't wait to visit again. Just oerfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying with Frieda in Port Douglas. We felt welcomed and looked after by Frida and Colin. The space was beautiful as were the breakfasts, exquisitely presented each morning at the dining space in the garden. Our experience of this part of Australia was greatly enhanced by staying here. We would recommend her unreservedly.
GREAT DAYS at this very nice B&B in August 2012.Really this was a stay in paradise. Wonderful breakfast every day. Frieda and Collin gave all the information to us we needed for our perfect holidays in PD.
About the Host, Frieda
Since we sold our fishing boat and found ourselves with a large house we decided to make it a b&b.
Colin and I enjoy meeting lovely people from all over the world and sharing our experience of this magnificent part of the world with them.
We also love to hear them talk about their lives , their experiences, and their opinions about the world we live in.
We like to share a glass of wine in the evening and hear how our guests find our country.
If we have time we go camping in the bush, Colin "does" fossicking in the hope of finding gold, we love the history of the outback.
We also enjoy walking our beach .
After all those years on a small fishing boat I love the garden with all its plants and all the space in our large house.
