this is a comfortable futon mattress in a room in a 2bdrm apt in a 4plex in a great area. very centrally located and close to everything. It is on the Emeryville, Oakland and Berkeley border.
i will need access to this room as i have my home phone line (seldom rings any more), and work files in the room. Thus it is ideal for someone who works 9-5pm or will be a tourist.
Wifi is available. Breakfast is not included (but open to sharing meals if you are a good, vegetarian cook - i can buy the ingredients).
I have another room in the attic that is rented to a very quiet gentleman.
Washer and dryer are coin operated and are downstairs. Street parking is easy.
Off street parking may available as well but difficult.
Small pets negotiable for an additional fee. Make an offer with your first message.
You will have of course, full access to living room with tv and kitchen at all times. We share the full bathroom
I am around during the day as i work from home and i am often out in the evenings. I can give you good tips on where to go and what to do in the area.
I can be as interactive as you would like :)
Very close to shopping and restaurants in Emeryville and downtown Berkeley. Area is being developed rapidly. Close to public transportation - between Macarthur Bart and Ashby Bart stations (Berkeley), AC Transit (Bus) and Emeryville Amtrak station. There is a free shuttle called Emery-Go-Round that takes you from 53rd and Hollis to Macarthur Bart station as well and you can walk to it.

George is very nice. He told me a lot about the nearby neighborhood and gave me a lot of advice. He respects people and made my stay very comfortable. The place to very close to everything. So, go for George if you want a comfortable stay with very thing nearby!
Although I did not meet George during my stay, he was pleasant and helpful to communicate with. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. The shower especially is great! The area is between a very nice and a slightly less nice area of Oakland/Emeryville. I would not recommend going East after dark. West of the apartment is a recently renovated business district with well kept offices and buildings. There are a few cafes and bars within walking distance and a large group of shops about 20 minutes walk, across the railway tracks (use the pedestrian bridge at the Amtrak station to cross). The nearest shop is a CVS 5 minutes walk down San Pablo. BART is 25-30 minutes walking distance away, but the Emery Go Round shuttle (free!) is a great way to get there in a little less time.
George was an excellent and accommodating host! A pleasure to have stayed in this sublet over the summer
George is a helpful and friendly landlord. The location is convenient. I recommend this place which is good for money.
George is a very sweet and kind person. I liked his place. There are a lot of buddhist statues around and the vibe is very relaxed. I had a car so I never had to travel to BART. He allowed me to park in the back in a real parking space which was good cause I saw window glass on the street. He was really flexible and I'm glad I got to meet him and stay at his place for a night.
George was a great host, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and sincere. Highly recommended.
George is a great host! He is very friendly, always available and he recommended me where to go in San Francisco! That was really great and helpful. :D
As stated, this place is close to major highways. When looking at alternatives from SF, this place does the job, at a very cost effective rate. A Zip car is 3 blocks away, you can also take free Emeyrville GoAround Bus Shuttle, that will drop you off within 2 minutes of George's house. This is a benefit as the closest BART station is 25 minutes by walking. A major grocery chain is a 7 minute walk. In terms of car, it's pretty quick to get onto the I-80 and into SF or in Oakland.
As per the experience itself, when George was around, it worked out alright. George's roommate, Richard - is absolutely great! The issue I had was George was not here when I arrived, as he was in a different country and an issue arose with a previous tenant who shouldn't have been there. George was very pleasant when he came. He offered me a ride to the BART station, and was available to have a conversation.
I found George to be an exceptional host. He was friendly, kind and fun to be around. He was available and helpful throughout my entire visit, offerring suggestions for any inquiries I had during my stay. He even treated me to a yoga class!
George was a wonderful host. His place was indeed close to everything, transportation, shopping, grocery and other interesting places to visit that is usually out of the ordinary.
He was even gracious enough to drive all the way to Napa Valley! I had blast!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
