Interaction with Guests
I will provide you with a quick orientation and talk you through London and local attractions on arrival - depending on how new you are to London. After that I'm happy to chat as little or as much as you like.
During weekdays I am at work so you have the flat to yourself and sometimes I'm away at weekends. My flat suits the independent solo traveller who is looking for a quiet home away from home.
Fulham is vibrant and has a village atmosphere with excellent transport links. Location-wise the flat is in an upmarket area in Zone 2. The area is quiet and extremely safe part of London. The river Thames is within a short walking distance, and provides a magical respite from the busy city. Fulham is a great location for traditional English pubs, local theatres and restaurants.
Fulham Broadway is the closest tube. Hammersmith is also close and is the tube station for Heathrow.
All tube stations can be reached by a five minute bus journey, or a 15 minute walk.
From outside the flat there are a wide variety of bus routes to all the top sightseeing and shopping spots such as Kings Road, Westminster, the South Bank, plus South Kensington and all the main museums.
Top travel tip 1: Get a London Oyster card. Top it up with £10. This will get you to the flat via London train, tube or bus.
Top travel tip 2: Get the 'Citymapper' app. Excellent app showing all bus, tube, overground and walking directions between points - plus all costs and timings. Highly recommended.
Cycles for hire: Right outside the flat is London's Cycle Hire scheme, ideal for a short cycle down to river, exploring locally, or venturing into the heart of London. I have lots of cycle guides for your use.

From HEATHROW. Journey time 1.5 - 2 hours from plane landing. Tube to Hammersmith then easy bus trip to Dawes Road.

This is because I work during the day. However, I can be flexible on the morning check-out, and at weekends for both check-in and check-out.
I operate a 'one and one out' guest policy so that my guests can enjoy their exclusive time in my flat. I like to ensure that guests are not interrupted by a new guest arriving or wanting access to the flat to leave their luggage, use the facilities, or take the door keys, before the outgoing guest is ready.
Wipe down the glass shower partition after use.
Leave the bathroom door open to let the steam out after showering.
Double lock the door when you go out, and,
Turn the lights out when you go to bed.
There will be keys for you on arrival so you can freely come and go.
MOST OF ALL - ENJOY!
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
Antonia was a wonderful host, and I had a lovely stay at her place. She was also incredibly helpful in suggesting ways to get around and has a wealth of information for people visiting London. Her place is extremely comfortable, and located close to a number of restaurants, cafes and grocery stores, and it is very easy to get to central London from there. Overall, a fantastic stay!
Antonia is a very kind host. provide a detailed orientation and always good advice. the flat is small but very clean and nice. it is convenient as well to go anywhere around. good choice.
I loved the decor and quality of Antonia's place - the roman blinds, the mini chandeliers, the plush bath towel, how functional the bedroom was, etc. She was a thorough, detail-oriented, and warm host. The extensive house manual/ guidebook was helpful. Also, I liked having access to a washing machine. I wished I could've stayed longer.
Antonia is an amazing host. In fact, if there were host levels, Antonia would be considered a super host.
Her flat is located a few minutes and within walking distance of Fulham Broadway station, and there's a bus stop right around the corner that connects you to everywhere. Plus, there's a rental bike station a few feet from her flat, too. You can also easily walk to the river.
While the room is a bit small, it's perfect for one person and Antonia provides everything you could need - EVERYTHING. From a good functioning hairdryer, to towels, toiletries, fridge and cupboard space.
Even though I left a few days earlier, after cutting my London trip short, I have nothing but praise for this AirBnB experience.
Antonia is full of tips and advice - for your trip, info about the area, where to eat, places to avoid, etc etc. I found them really useful (ask her about taking the bus instead of the tube - top tip!).
I also loved that her space is not in a tourist area so you can get a good feel for the community and ordinary Britons' lives.
One thing - Antonia gives a lot of info in her confirmation emails but one thing to note is the check in and check out times, I think both are generally earlier/later than most (9am check out and 6pm check in). But Antonia does explain this thoroughly in the posting.
I highly recommend Antonia.
The flat was good for me. She had send to me about her emergency situation in advance. I could feel her thoughtful consideration. Her friend had informed about good places around there etc.
Interesting thing is there is a book about everything. I think antonia is very organized person. Thanks for everythings.
Very well organised introduction to the flat and Fulham vicinity. Antonia gets a thumb-up for her manual, esp. the "8 places NOT to go in London" section ;)
The flat is not just round the corner for West End and major touristy attractions, but public transport is close, and the area itself is a curious neighbourhood to explore for those who is not in London for the first time. Plenty of really nice local places to eat, too. Plum cafe is great for breakfasts!
My first experience with airbnb was unique, interesting and of course valuable. I had a wonderful stay, everything just as described, and I would definitely recommend you to try al least once , just for the experience and if you don't be satisfied, just don't do it again!
About the Host, Antonia
I am a longtime Londoner of 30 years and I love this city. I have been hosting since May 2012 and have found it to be an absolutely delightful experience. I'm only sorry I didn't do this sooner!
It is wonderful how airbnb has helped us regular people open their doors to the curious traveller, and I am very happy that I can now contribute to this way of experiencing the world.
I've really enjoyed hosting and chatting with all the lovely airbnb'ers who have come to stay and I'm looking forward to being a guest myself sometime soon.
I work for Local Government in economic development, and love living in this part of the big city, as it has a village atmosphere and is close to the river - my bit of countryside in the city.
See you soon! Antonia
