Interaction with Guests
I will provide you with a quick orientation and talk you through London and local attractions on arrival - depending on how new you are to London. After that I'm happy to chat as little or as much as you like.
During weekdays I am at work so you have the flat to yourself and sometimes I'm away at weekends. My flat suits the independent solo traveller who is looking for a quiet home away from home.
Fulham is vibrant and has a village atmosphere with excellent transport links. Location-wise the flat is in an upmarket area of Zone 2. The area is quiet and extremely safe part of London. The river Thames is within a short walking distance, and provides a magical respite from the busy city. Fulham is a great location for traditional English pubs, local theatres and restaurants.
Fulham Broadway is the closest tube. Hammersmith is also nearby and is the tube station for Heathrow.
All tube stations can be reached by a five minute bus journey, or a 15 minute walk.
From outside the flat there are a wide variety of bus routes to all the top sightseeing and shopping spots such as Kings Road, Westminster, the South Bank, plus South Kensington and all the main museums.
Top travel tip 1: Get a London Oyster card. Top it up with £10. This will get you to the flat via London train, tube or bus.
Top travel tip 2: Get the 'Citymapper' app. Excellent app showing all London bus, tube, overground, cycle and walking directions between points - plus all costs and timings. Highly recommended.
Cycles for hire: Right outside the flat is London's Cycle Hire scheme, ideal for a short cycle down to river, exploring locally, or venturing into the heart of London. I have lots of cycle guides for your use. Download the Santander app.
Other Things to Note
LEFT LUGGAGE - BAGGAGE STORAGE
My check-in is at 6pm and check-out is 9am - I can be very flexible with check out, but not necessarily with check in as I work away from home and I like to be there to welcome you when you arrive!
If you need to store luggage, note that all mainline stations have left luggage / baggage storage facilities. Do an Internet search for Left Luggage London.
I recommend the following:
From HEATHROW take the Heathrow Express and leave your bags at Paddington train station.
From GATWICK, take the Gatwick Express and leave your bags at Victoria train station.
From STANSTED, take the Stansted Express and leave your leave your (email hidden)rpool Street train station. Or get a little closer to my place and leave them at Paddington. Just take the circle line direct to Paddington from Liverpool Street.
There are other left luggage offices at Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras mainline train stations.
Details on how to get to my flat from these baggage storage facilities will be provided on booking.

TRAVEL TIMES TO MY FLAT
Travel times from main London transport hubs to my flat are approximately as follows:
From HEATHROW. Journey time 1.5 - 2 hours from plane landing. Tube to Hammersmith then easy bus trip to Dawes Road.
From GATWICK. Journey time 2 - 3 hours from plane landing. I recommend Easybus non-stop to Earls Court/West Brompton. See the picture on my listing for a map showing the simple 15 minute walk to flat.

CHECK-IN & OUT
Check-in is at 6pm and check-out is 9am.
But I can be flexible - just ask! I work 9am to 5pm weekdays in Hammersmith. I can be very flexible on the morning check-out and at the weekends I can be flexible for both check-in and check-out.
I operate a 'one and one out' guest policy so that my guests can enjoy their exclusive time in my flat. I like to ensure that guests are not interrupted by a new guest arriving or wanting access to the flat to leave their luggage, use the facilities, or take the door keys, before the outgoing guest is ready.
Wipe down the glass shower partition after use.
Leave the bathroom door open to let the steam out after showering.
Double lock the door when you go out, and,
Turn the lights out when you go to bed. :-)
There will be keys for you on arrival so you can freely come and go.
MOST OF ALL - ENJOY!
About the Host, Antonia
I am a longtime Londoner of 30 years and I love this city. I have been hosting since May 2012 and have found it to be an absolutely delightful experience. I'm only sorry I didn't do this sooner!
It is wonderful how airbnb has helped us regular people open their doors to the curious traveller, and I am very happy that I can now contribute to this way of experiencing the world.
I've really enjoyed hosting and chatting with all the lovely airbnb'ers who have come to stay and I'm looking forward to being a guest myself sometime soon.
I work for Local Government in economic development, and love living in this part of the big city, as it has a village atmosphere and is close to the river - my bit of countryside in the city.
See you soon! Antonia
