Response from Laura And Rick:

Thank-you for the review, Bryan. First of I would like to apologize about anything that may have happened to you. It was never mentioned to me or Rick during your stay (this is the first I've heard this) consequently, neither Rick nor I know anything about it and we do hope you're fine.
I will address the remainder of your review in order of your points for others to review: Bryan and his girlfriend did not stay in Lighthouse Escape. Two days before arriving I asked them if they would like to switch to Poolside Escape since there was a family staying next to Lighthouse Escape and sharing the same bath (stated in Lighthouse listing, bath is sometimes shared). I thought it would be nicer for Bryan and his girlfriend to have more privacy and they agreed, therefore, they stayed in Poolside Escape with a private bath. In the "Amenities" section of all our listings it is clearly marked off that the hot tub is not available. Usually, if guests are still in doubt, they ask before booking and, I do tell them the pool is not heated and, the hot tub is not hot. We have many guests use the pool and we welcome it but, I'm sorry we can't photograph the pool without the tub as they are 1 unit and not separately constructed. As far as our dogs, we live in an isolated location and as the listings states, we have a working ranchette, with again, in the "Amenities" section stating we have dogs, cats, and other animals (in our case, horses, chickens and lots of wildlife). Typically in ranch living, pets and other animals run free. The dogs do bark and actually, that's what one typically wants on a ranch. It does serve a purpose. If one does not want, as in our case, a small ranch experience then one should not book with us. This is not an apartment, a condo, nor a house on a lot, there are plenty of beautiful ones to book, elsewhere. As far as upon arrival to any Airbnb listing for the first time...I think a good portion of Airbnb listings are private residences and not hotels or motels where one just enters through a revolving door, unannounced. I was taught it is good manners to always knock when one is visiting to someone's home. We just expect that as the normal for good manners and as well for safety. I don't know of anyone who just enters someone's home without first knocking and in most situations, if there are dogs in the home, they may be protective, although we have never had problems with guests before. To all Airbnb future potential guests, please knock in the future upon arriving to any home for the first time...All in all, I had a nice time chatting with Brian and his girlfriend and since there was nothing mentioned, did not realize there were any concerns. Thank-you again, Bryan!
