The apartment has Wi-Fi, a dock to charge an iphone/ipod, a DVD player, a TV, and the building has a washer-dryer in the basement that costs $1.75 per load. Heating is central - we have never been cold. There is an A/C unit in the living room and a fan in the bedroom.
The bedroom has a comfortable, queen-sized bed and the bathroom, though on the small size, has a bathtub. Great water pressure and hot/cold functions. Great feng-shui.

Interaction with Guests
We like for guests to let us know when they arrive, how they feel, and then before they leave and to let us know of anything before we arrive back to our apt
It's cozy, fresh, expansive, warm, and SUPER NY! It's right by the park, amazing restaurants, and a super convenient subway. Museums!
SUPER convenient. C/B trains nearby and 1 train 10 minute walk away.
I ask guests to take off their shoes when they come into the apartment (keeps deep NYC grime out...) and to be considerate of the noise they make.
Something broken? Please let me know when it happens - much rather find out this way than when I arrive at the apartment!
I am friendly with our neighbors and would like guests to report any problems or concerns directly to me.
Guests must buy their own food, beverages, and toiletries (except for toilet paper). Clean sheets and towels of course provided :)
The fireplace is cleaned/closed for the summer. Very much working in the winter! Feel free to make a fire if you know how to work it! :)
Many thanks to Maayan and Duncan for hosting us in NYC and making us feel home. The hosts are wonderful, sweet and truly hospitable people and that feels once you enter the place. It's super clean and cosy. And of course it's the best location you can think of, i.e. right by the Central Park and a 5 minute walk from the Shake Shack!!!
Guys, thanks a million and we are looking forward to seeing you again..
We had the most wonderful time in Duncan & Mayaan's apartment. It is in the most ideal location, and has everything you could possibly need for your New York stay.
We stayed in December, and it was super warm and cosy. We loved coming home of an evening and having a glass of wine, whilst watching the snow come down outside.
During our trip, we were lucky enought to meet Duncan and Maayan, who were such a lovely couple, which we did expect due to the fantastic correspondence Maayan provided leading up to our trip.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat,
Eve and I have always enjoyed the upper west side experience in NY. Some day we dream of opening a little cafe like the Peace Food Cafe, which is pretty much perfection for two vegetarians. Of course, being next to the Park is a necessity. Duncan and Maayan offer a lovely place to enjoy the activity of the area yet still escape to the quiet of apartment life. They were very good in communicating all we needed to know--and more. The apartment was quiet, clean, and well appointed. Thanks for making a great trip more special.
This was a first time Airbnb experience for me and it was perfect. The process was seamless and Maayan was extremely helpful and responsive to my enquiries. The apartment itself felt like a home away from home. It was everything one could want in NYC... quiet, secure, comfortable, very friendly neighbourhood, fabulous location with plenty of great places to eat and shop right around the corner. Due to its close proximity to Central park, it was a surprising treat to wake to birdsong in the morning. It was a whistlestop trip for me so I didn't have the chance to fully enjoy the welcome basket of goodies my hosts left out for me, and all that was on offer unfortunately. However I did sleep like a baby in the very comfortable bed and luxuriated in a few very good hot showers (great water pressure and shower head). I do highly recommend this lovely apartment and I am looking forward to coming back again next year.
What a wonderful time we had at Maayan and Duncan's apartment....It is a spacious one bedroom, with a lovely terrace that is just great for evening glasses of wine etc...
The apartment is in the back of the property, so it was very quiet and peaceful...The bathroom was spotless and the mattress was firm and comfortable.....The kitchen is is designed quite efficiently, with plenty of counter space..(a rarity in NYC)...
The location was perfect...Tree lined streets in one of the safer areas of NYC...A short walk to Central Park and of course "Starbucks", made the stay that much more enjoyable....
A real nice cozy feel to the apartment, which made the stay quite memorable....thanks again...
It was a very nice apartment in a great neighborhood. It was very convenient. The pictures were current and accurate. The host was very nice and prompt to answer questions. There was little snafu with getting the keys but it all worked out ok.
Duncan and Mayaan were exceptional hosts; they went over and beyond their duties even despite the fact that they were out of town for the duration of my stay. The apartment was in perfect condition upon my arrival, and they even left a food basket to welcome me to their home. They provided an excellent list of food and sight recommendations as well as details for transit. The only negative is that I wish I was able to meet D and M in person! Don't think twice about booking...except when I'm in town because I'll be there!
I live in New York City but have lived internationally most of my life. I'm in the entertainment industry and also work at a nonprofit part-time. I love to cook, do yoga, travel, and nature.
I love cosying up at home with a nice movie, going for walks in Central Park, traveling and adventure.
