Absolutely fantastic. The cottage is beautiful and we had a great time.
We loved the home! It was the very best part of our 10 day the trip and the sunsets were amazing. I would highly recommend Maureen's home to anyone who wants to experience a traditional Irish home while in Ireland. Very private setting and beautiful inside and out.
The house is a very quaint but fairly large cottage. The view is simply amazing. We did not meet Maureen but the caretaker was a friendly, helpful man.The location was fine for us and not a lot of trouble finding it.
Our visit to The Thatched Cottage on the Ring of Kerry was absolutely delightful. In spite of arriving very late in the evening, we were greeted most graciously by our host, Maureen Cahill. She was as welcoming and friendly as this charming cottage! She took some time to show us the house and even stocked the refrigerator with wonderful breakfast treats ! We enjoyed the duck eggs from the neighbor and exploring the local beach, gardens and villages. Our days were filled with sunshine and blue skies as we explored the area, always to return to the comfort of this wonderful home. We highly recommend this lovely home and Ms. Cahill's hospitality. It is the perfect location to explore the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Penninsula and Killarney. We only wish we could have stayed longer than five days!
The reservation was canceled 149 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Loved this little home! It was so quaint, beautiful views, GORGEOUS! Down the road we met a lovely father/son team..they own Caitlin's and Pat's (the fathers name is Pat, the sons is not Caitlin, it's Jack) but they were so helpful. Spent New Years in the area and Maureen even made our reservation for us, wonderful experience overall...
The cottage was huge and wonderful and Maureen was a great host. We had some travel issues on our arrival and Maureen was very flexible and helpful, leaving some snacks for us and the fireplace all ready to go. The cottage is directly on the ring of Kerry, within walking distance of a pub and overall wonderful. The only thing thing that is a little goofy is that you need to have a bunch of change to heat and electrify the cottage as well as heat water for a shower, so it's a bit different....not a huge problem, but can be a hassle. Overall, wonderful time!
The best place to stay on the Ring of Kerry. Quaint with amazing ocean and mountain views. Lovely fireplace. Overall a great escape.
We arrived during a storm and the cottage was lovely and warm.
The views are amazing and I would definitely stay here again if I am back in the area.
We had no trouble finding the cottage, and Maureen was great when it came to communication and giving directions.
Maureen was great. She was there when I arrived and spent time explaining everything to me. She was also eager to give suggestions on places to hike and things to see. Beautiful cottage. Best B&B so far.
