Welcome to Charlottesville! We are renting out our guest room in our townhouse located within 1-1.5 miles from the Downtown Mall, University, Stadium and UVA Hospital. It's about a ten minute drive to Monticello and surrounding vineyards and 30 minutes from Skyline Drive.
We are young professionals looking to meet new people and share our home with you. Our home is the perfect getaway for your trip to Charlottesville whether you are a UVA parent, student, here for an interview, in town for a concert, here for winery visits, or just looking for a happy, affordable place to stay. We are walking distance to the football stadium and have special rates for home games.
The guest bedroom is located on the third floor. It is a queen bed. There is space in the closet for you to hang your clothes and store your suitcase. This room gets lots of natural sunlight. It also has great blinds if you wish to sleep in. The private bathroom is next door to the bedroom but not connected. It has a full bathtub. The guest bedroom is on the same floor as our bedroom, but the walls are not shared.
Guests have full access to our 2nd floor living room/kitchen/dining room, the third floor guest room and the guest bathroom. The ground level living room attached to my home office is our personal space [i.e. laundry/bikes/not so tidy!].
We have recently increased our capacity from 2 guests to 3 guests. We will accept a third guest on weekends to sleep on an over-sized, very comfy couch on the main level in our den. Currently photos of this area are not posted, but I'll get to that soon! Again, we can only accommodate a third guest on short weekend stays. There is a half bath connected to the den.
Parking and Transportation: There is ample street parking available in our neighborhood. On the evenings and weekends, it might be challenging to find a spot directly in front of our house, but if drive around the block, you should have no problem finding a free spot. There is a bus stop located less than a minute walk from our house. While UVA and downtown Mall aren't too far away, we recommend driving or biking. Taxis are plentiful.
Our neighborhood is very quiet with lots of young professionals. It's a fairly new development that is well landscaped. Our townhouse overlooks a soccer field and the grounds of a middle school. If you like to walk/run, there are are several nearby trails that we can recommend.
Amenities: Clean linens and towels, coffee + coffee maker provided, hairdryer, wi-fi, sparkling water in your room upon arrival, fresh flowers in your room, and street parking. We have a single-stream recycling provider so throw all waste in trash cans and they will be sorted and recycled. If you have special requests, please let us know in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate.
We have two fluffy, adorable Persian cats. They do not go in the guest room. However, anyone with the slightest allergies should probably book somewhere else. We do have an emergency supply of Benadryl in the guest bathroom!
Our standard rates are $80/weeknight and $99/weekend night. If you are staying more than three nights, we will give you a special offer. We modestly increase our rates for special weekends such as graduation or home football games. These rates do not reflect AirBnB fees. We do not charge a cleaning fee.
The Charlottesville CAT Route 4 stops outside our neighborhood. It usually comes every 30 minutes. We recommend having a car in Charlottesville or borrowing our bike.
We were delighted with every aspect of our stay with Curry and Andre. The location was perfect for UVA and the down-town mall. The cats were welcoming too!
I would highly recommend this beautiful art filled town-house to anyone visiting Charlottesville.
The reservation was canceled 58 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Curry and André, are great hosts and their cats are wonderful as well. I stayed with them for three weeks and really felt at home. The room was just as described, the bed was heavenly and the private bath was really clean. In case you forget something, they really do have everything you might need. Curry was so kind and took me to get groceries when I arrived and made a lot of room in the fridge for me. I cooked late in the evening and they didn't mind and we always had great talks when we met. I enjoyed their company immensely. I loved their porch next to the kitchen and they have a great variety of books and magazines that I wish I would have had time to read. They are also very accomodating with me doing the laundry late or very early. Everything is really easy with them which makes you feel welcom. The bus stop is right around the corner and the bus runs on time. The free trolley stop is a ten minute walk away, which I enjoyed after spending all my day at the library and the free trolley really takes you right on to the (website hidden). grounds. Curry also introduced me to her gym and would have lent me her bike--but the weather just wasn't cooperating. The neighborhood is very safe, too. So I highly recommend staying with Curry and André.
Lovely room, cozy bedding, very warm welcome, fascinating artwork. Wonderful hostess, friendly cats. Easy access to town. We had a wonderful time and only wish we had had more time to spend there.
We just were in for the night, but it was a perfect stopover. Curry was very accommodating to our uncertain time of arrival. We loved their welcoming kitties.
Loved the place, loved the art, great time.
I had a great stay with curry. I was interviewing at UVA. Curry works from home and was very accommodating with my arrival time. The house itself is about 2 miles from the train station And 1.6 from the hospital which was a bit of a hike. However, curry offered to lend me her bike and/or drive me. The room was clean and well appointed. I had access to a private bathroom. Overall, great stay would recommend.
Second time at Uflacker's wonderful house, and I hope not the last time! Curry and Andre are so friendly, they helped me a lot with the groceries, the yoga etc.
The house is huge and beautiful, bright, clean. The kitchen is perfect too. The house is at a walking distance from UVa, the bus or trolley stop. Nice neighborhood.
Curry and Andre go out of the their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. They are gracious and attentive, and are willing to engage you or let you have your space. The house is warm and open with bright colors and interesting art. The room is nicely appointed with several personalized features. The bed was very comfortable, especially after a long day of driving. I would highly recommend A+C for future Airbnb stays.
Curry was a great host. We didn't see her often, but the room was cute and clean. Very close to downtown and UVA's campus, which was convenient! Would definitely stay here again.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
