Comfortable Room, Stylish Home

House - Private room · Rainier Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903, United States

The Space

Welcome to Charlottesville! We are renting out our guest room in our townhouse located within 1-1.5 miles from the Downtown Mall, University, Stadium and UVA Hospital. It's about a ten minute drive to Monticello and surrounding vineyards and 30 minutes from Skyline Drive.

We are young professionals looking to meet new people and share our home with you. Our home is the perfect getaway for your trip to Charlottesville whether you are a UVA parent, student, here for an interview, in town for a concert, here for winery visits, or just looking for a happy, affordable place to stay. We are walking distance to the football stadium and have special rates for home games.

The guest bedroom is located on the third floor. It is a queen bed. There is space in the closet for you to hang your clothes and store your suitcase. This room gets lots of natural sunlight. It also has great blinds if you wish to sleep in. The private bathroom is next door to the bedroom but not connected. It has a full bathtub. The guest bedroom is on the same floor as our bedroom, but the walls are not shared.

Guests have full access to our 2nd floor living room/kitchen/dining room, the third floor guest room and the guest bathroom. The ground level living room attached to my home office is our personal space [i.e. laundry/bikes/not so tidy!].

We have recently increased our capacity from 2 guests to 3 guests. We will accept a third guest on weekends to sleep on an over-sized, very comfy couch on the main level in our den. Currently photos of this area are not posted, but I'll get to that soon! Again, we can only accommodate a third guest on short weekend stays. There is a half bath connected to the den.

Parking and Transportation: There is ample street parking available in our neighborhood. On the evenings and weekends, it might be challenging to find a spot directly in front of our house, but if drive around the block, you should have no problem finding a free spot. There is a bus stop located less than a minute walk from our house. While UVA and downtown Mall aren't too far away, we recommend driving or biking. Taxis are plentiful.

Our neighborhood is very quiet with lots of young professionals. It's a fairly new development that is well landscaped. Our townhouse overlooks a soccer field and the grounds of a middle school. If you like to walk/run, there are are several nearby trails that we can recommend.

Amenities: Clean linens and towels, coffee + coffee maker provided, hairdryer, wi-fi, sparkling water in your room upon arrival, fresh flowers in your room, and street parking. We have a single-stream recycling provider so throw all waste in trash cans and they will be sorted and recycled. If you have special requests, please let us know in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate.

We have two fluffy, adorable Persian cats. They do not go in the guest room. However, anyone with the slightest allergies should probably book somewhere else. We do have an emergency supply of Benadryl in the guest bathroom!

Our standard rates are $80/weeknight and $99/weekend night. If you are staying more than three nights, we will give you a special offer. We modestly increase our rates for special weekends such as graduation or home football games. These rates do not reflect AirBnB fees. We do not charge a cleaning fee.

The Charlottesville CAT Route 4 stops outside our neighborhood. It usually comes every 30 minutes. We recommend having a car in Charlottesville or borrowing our bike.

  • Curry and André, are great hosts and their cats are wonderful as well. I stayed with them for three weeks and really felt at home. The room was just as described, the bed was heavenly and the private bath was really clean. In case you forget something, they really do have everything you might need. Curry was so kind and took me to get groceries when I arrived and made a lot of room in the fridge for me. I cooked late in the evening and they didn't mind and we always had great talks when we met. I enjoyed their company immensely. I loved their porch next to the kitchen and they have a great variety of books and magazines that I wish I would have had time to read. They are also very accomodating with me doing the laundry late or very early. Everything is really easy with them which makes you feel welcom. The bus stop is right around the corner and the bus runs on time. The free trolley stop is a ten minute walk away, which I enjoyed after spending all my day at the library and the free trolley really takes you right on to the (website hidden). grounds. Curry also introduced me to her gym and would have lent me her bike--but the weather just wasn't cooperating. The neighborhood is very safe, too. So I highly recommend staying with Curry and André.

  • Lovely room, cozy bedding, very warm welcome, fascinating artwork. Wonderful hostess, friendly cats. Easy access to town. We had a wonderful time and only wish we had had more time to spend there.

  • We just were in for the night, but it was a perfect stopover. Curry was very accommodating to our uncertain time of arrival. We loved their welcoming kitties.

  • Curry and Andre's house was bright and cheery as described. We only stayed very briefly and did not get a chance to meet Curry, but she was very helpful and let us keep our bikes safely indoors.
We felt the room was a little pricey but otherwise perfect for our needs.

  • Curry's home was just beautiful, and Curry was very kind and inviting--nice to chat with, as well. As pictured, clean, and warm. Really enjoyed my stay here. Thanks so much!

  • Curry is really nice and very responsive with communication. Her place is brand new, plenty of room and the guest room is really clean and nice. She will make your stay comfortable. Location is convenient. 7 min or so drive to UVA. 20-25 min to the airport. Definitely recommend.

  • I stayed with Curry and Andre for a month while i completed a rotation at UVA hospital. They were lovely hosts and made me feel right at home. My room was very comfortable. They also have an extensive bookcase with lots of books to read which I found myself doing in my spare time. I'd most definitely stay with them again if I am in Charlottesville. Thanks again you guys!

  • Curry was a great host for several of my friends who were guests at my wedding in C-ville recently. Very sweet, accommodating, and hospitable. My friends who stayed there said they really enjoyed their stay!!

  • We had a lovely, but brief stay with Curry and Andre. Their place is great, and the location is fantastic for a visit to Charlottesville. The room is very comfortable. They are very friendly and had lots of suggestions of local places to visit, or restaurants and things like that. Their 2 cats are also so cute and fun. We would recommend staying with Curry and Andre.

About
My husband and I moved to Charlottesville two years ago from DC.. My husband is studying at UVA ,and I work from home for a DC based company specializing in cooking and entertaining events. We really love to travel, but with our schedules, we don't get out as much as we'd like. Opening our home via AirBnB is our way to connect with travelers, meet new people, share our home, and help us take our dream vacation- a "Bosch World Tour" to visit every single Bosch painting available for public viewing from DC to Rotterdam. We love art, color and culture.
