Welcome to Darmada, situated on the ridge of the river Unda, in Sidemen Valley. Darmada was created to preserve nature and a holy spring. Darmada is an unique Eco resort offering 7 bugalows, on a hectare of gorgeous, natural land. We have a spring fed swimming pool and an open air dining space with spectacular views of the river and mountains.
The design of the rooms brings together, old Dutch and Balinese elements. Each room has either a king size or 2 single beds with mosquito nets. The bathroom is half open and has a hot water shower. All rooms have gorgeous handmade cement tiles.
Relax and enjoy the stunning views from both the front and the back terrace. Warung Melita, our dinning space is serving healthy local food and is also used 3 times a week as an after school teaching facility for the local children.
There are also many activities that can be enjoyed at Darmada such as:
Balinese dancing class
Spiritual talks with a local priest
Rice field walks with local guides
Palm leaf weaving class
Gardening in our organic garden.

What a perfect location with everything you need to relax and enjoy Sideman and all the beauty that surrounds. Wayan and his staff are very hospitable and made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. They have a list of activities to do around Sideman that are well worth taking a look at. The Shiva room was beautiful and we were welcomed with a delicious beverage and a clean hammock was strung on our private back patio. Stay for more time than you think you'll need. You won't regret it. There is much to explore in the area and lots of fun side roads to scoot down.
Reading books, massage, and jogging in the middle of outback mountain and it felt really great.
We had the most wonderful time at Wayan's Darmada. I can barely find words... It was very small, situated in the beautiful and luckily not touristy at all village of Sidemen. The staff is the nicest, you feel like becoming part of a small family, also because the resort is very small. It was built with love and attention to detail. Everything was just perfect and we hope to come back at some point, all the way from Germany :)!
I can only recommend this place if you are looking for a quite, beautfiul and natural place, nicely fitting in the nature around and offering beautiful rice field views as well as trekking paths around.
It is a little paradise!!!
Welkomsdrank. Voldoende info wat je in Sidemen allemaal kan zien en doen.
Very friendly host. Peaceful, quiet place. Not directly located downtown. Needs a bit of a walk (or even a motorbike) if you don't want to eat in the b&b. No wifi. And...you don't want to be afraid of jungle animals.
The Shiva room is beautiful as is the surrounding area. The pool is lovely and the setting serene. It is very much a hotel, rather than a home stay. There was no fridge or cooking facilities in our room, which is unfortunate because the restaurant was over priced and had few vegetarian options (the staff weren't particularly flexible with what they would provide either). Wayan was nice but we didn't have much to do with him. The facilities were truly stunning though and it was a relief to get out of urban Bali and into something a lot more relaxed and quiet.

Hello, My name is Wayan and I was born and raised here in Sidemen. I am married to Barbara (Dutch) and we have 2 children, a boy, Sadu and a girl, Dwi .
My pleasures are my family, organic gardening, mediation and helping to educate the children and teenagers in the village.
We have 7 rooms at Darmada, a spring water fed swimming pool and a restaurant. We can arrange for transportation and tours around Bali.
I like to offer tips and can share information, about my beautiful island of the gods.
I hope to welcome you here in Sidemen.
