Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Excellent ground-level apartment. Well-appointed, and excellent communication. Comfortable bed. Stocked fridge. Easy walking to a lot of areas, incl. the convention center and Chinatown. The washer/dryer was a bonus, as it rained a lot, and I packed lightly. I would stay here again.

  • I had a great stay at this apartment. Sakhi was quick to get back to me and had the fridge stocked with fruit and other breakfast items when I arrived, which was really nice. The location is great, and the bed was very comfortable. The apartment is very tastefully decorated. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This is an excellent choice for a stay in DC for 1-2 people. And if you are going there for an event at the Washington Conference Center you couldn't ask for a better location.

The apartment is well appointed, close to transportation, walkable to lots of locations, and your host is great! Seriously, arriving to the apartment late at night to find that there was food and fruit available for me was soooooo wonderful.

    Stay here. Do it.

  • I stayed at the apartment for 4 nights, and all went well. Sakhi was there to greet me and show me around the apartment and the neighborhood. The apartment is clean and comfortable, with everything in working order. Sakhi provided some fresh fruit and breakfast food in the fridge...very much appreciated. He is easily available by phone should that be necessary The location is ideal for walking and sightseeing, or using public transportation. The neighborhood is attractive, safe, and relatively quiet. A supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away, as are a few eating places.
Overall, a very nice place to stay, and I recommend it. Jim

  • Perfectly clean, perfectly equipped, perfectly perfect, the place is not too far from public transportation. Sakhi was a wonderful and responsive host.

Extra bonus : some food was provided so I did not starved to death in an unknown city, while everything was closed due to the weather conditions.

I hope the place will be available next time I will stop by. It is so great that I don't want to go to an hotel in Washington DC anymore !

  • Because my flight got in late, I wasn't able to meet Sakhi. He was, however, very helpful, and everything went smoothly. Had there been any problems, I'm sure Sakhi would have responded quickly. The apartment was nice as well--clean, well appointed, secure. I would definitely stay again.

  • Great apartment, minimalist and modern décor, and a perfect small size for an apartment in the city. The apartment is in the Mt Vernon Neighborhood at the border of the Mt Vernon Triangle Area (east of the apt) which still in the middle of gentrification. It is conveniently located steps from Bus P6 that take you to The Mall. It is also 2 blocks from a CapitolBikeShare station (a must do for at least one day) and a Safeway /SweetGreens /Chipotle /Writers&Poets. I got the apartment easily using the Mt Vernon Metro Station from DCA (Regan Airport). I arrive a bit earlier than plan but Sakhi was also getting to the apartment early, which worked out great. He showed me the apartment and had the fridge stock with a number of essentials and pointed me to Writers&Poets to grab an early dinner. The houses west of the apartment are great looking old style brick walkups with some modern remodels sprinkled in. I recommend the apartment for a stay in DC.

  • This place was so darling and perfect for us. You will absolutely love it here. When we return to DC we will definitely be returning!

  • I stayed in this apartment for almost a month, teaching at Georgetown Law Center, which was 10 minutes walk from the apartment. The place was perfectly clean, well equipped and conveniently located, and I highly recommend it for short stays, although perhaps for longer ones like mine, in retrospect I would have chosen a slightly bigger place.
I enjoyed having a washing machine, a dryer, a dishwasher, and cable TV. I also enjoyed the small patio, although it is where the AC engines are located, so somewhat noisy. The kitchen has basic equipment, which allows for making, say, a salad, rice, and an omelet, but not elaborate cooking. There is also a convertible sofa, which enabled me to have a friend over.
The location is convenient - close to metro stations, and waking distance from China Town (7 minutes), the Mall (20-25 minutes), the Capitol (same).
Sakhi and his friend welcomed me warmly in person, and gave me a ride around the neighborhood, explaining about stores and restaurants, which was extremely nice.
In sum, great place for short stays. The main thing to be aware of is that it is a smaller place than appearing in the pictures. For example, there was nowhere I could sit comfortably and work on my laptop (could do it on the sofa, or sitting on the bar stools in the kitchen, but those where not really comfortable positions). Also, space to hang my clothes and store my stuff was somewhat limited. But again, I practically lived there for a month, which is different than short stays.

  • Sakhi was a wonderful host. The apartment was extremely clean when I checked in, and Sakhi met me there to give me all the information I needed. I especially appreciated the fact that there were some basic food items in the fridge for me: yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, juice, eggs, etc. I just got off a 9 hour flight, so having food immediately available when I arrived was wonderful, and very thoughtful. I loved staying in the apartment.!

I'm a long-time D.C. resident. I've lived out west, Arizona, California and also abroad and I've enjoyed visiting places in the Caribbean like the Great Exumas, St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, St. John, the Bahamas. I've also travelled to African countries like South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland. I've been described as the easy-going, laid-back type. But when stuff needs to get done, I'm on it. I'm into all music & enjoy art, different cultures, & different foods.
