This is an excellent choice for a stay in DC for 1-2 people. And if you are going there for an event at the Washington Conference Center you couldn't ask for a better location.
The apartment is well appointed, close to transportation, walkable to lots of locations, and your host is great! Seriously, arriving to the apartment late at night to find that there was food and fruit available for me was soooooo wonderful.
Stay here. Do it.
Everything was excellent! Thanks again.
This place is great. I stayed for 6 weeks, riding the Metro every day to a new job. Easy access- 8 minute brisk walk to the Mt Vernon station. Sakhi made check in/out easy although I never met him in person. Kitchen is in the front, bedroom in the back, TV on wall near refrigerator swings out to view from couch. Some noise from walking upstairs, occasional siren at night, but no problems sleeping. I cooked a lot and kitchen worked well. Easy groceries at Safeway a couple of blocks away. Quiet building, no interactions with neighbors. One note- building entrance has a keypad for entry. Enter the number, then push the door in before opening. It jams sometimes if you just pull it. I highly recommend this place if you're coming to Washington DC.

This was a bright, pleasant apartment on a quiet street, exactly as described. Sakhi was a great host: communication was prompt, friendly, and helpful, and he even left food in the fridge. This was my first Airbnb stay, and it was a very positive experience.
A great place! Sakhi was a great host, check in was easy and the groceries left were much appreciated. The apartment is in a great location, a very friendly neighborhood with easy access to public transport (4 blocks walk) as well as a supermarket and nice restaurants and takeaway. The apartment was really clean and tidy and has all of the creature comforts of home and is the perfect size for 1. I would definitely stay here again.
Very nice space and great location!
Overall the apartment was great and I had a great stay at Washington DC. It is a cozy, clean, small, home-like place that makes you inmediately feel comfortable. There is a Safeway nearby and Mt Vernon Square metro three blocks away. The Mall is at a 20 minutes walk away. The only low point is that is kind of noisy at nights and you may hear people walking from the apt upstairs. But besides that, I would definitely stay here if I come to DC again!
Great little apartment! Has everything you might need. Visited during the summer, always came back to a well cooled room, the AC in this place is great. Not much to complain about, nice kitchen, nice bathroom, comfy bed.
The neighborhood is beautiful, a lot of old brick houses. There is a slight "ghetto" tinge to it, but it seems like it's in the process of being cleaned up. If you're at all worried about that, one block over and you have big new buildings, Safeway, some nice restaurants, for me it was a nice feel overall.
Just a few notes for anyone considering staying here:
-The closest metro station is a little ways away, if you cant walk, or don't want to walk, make sure you rent a car. Luckily the mall is only a little more than a mile away, so if you don't mind walking, it's pretty convenient. Also the 24 hour Safeway that's very close by is a big help.
-If you're a light sleeper, this may not be the best place for you, you can hear people walking from the apartment above. Also, at least while I was there, a few sirens, police and firetrucks. Neither are loud or constant, I was able to sleep fine, but I can imagine for some people it may be a problem.
If the price was higher I might knock off a star for these things, but at less than 100 a night I rented it at, it's an incredible deal.
This Airbnb was perfect for my needs. Nice and spotlessly clean and very convenient to Metro. Will stay here again when business travel takes me back to DC. Host Sakhi was also great to work with as his communication was timely and thorough.
Great experience for my 4-night stay as I was visiting DC for the first time!
I couldn't meet Sakhi but communication was excellent, both before and during my stay. The apartment offers everything you can expect from the description and the pictures featured on the site. The place is really well-equipped. Nice kitchen, good bath/shower combination (good towels provided), excellent wi-fi...
The location is good, just a few minutes away from Mount Vernon Square Metro station (Green and Yellow Lines). You can walk to the Mall in 20 minutes or so. There is also a Safeway in the neighborhood, only a few blocks from the apartment.
I would easily recommend Sakhi's place for anyone visiting DC and looking for an apartment that is both comfortable and affordable.
