  • This was our first AirBB experience, so please keep this in mind while reading... My wife and I stayed for a one–week research visit to work at Harvard. The primary reasons for our selection were in no particular order (1) a good price, (2) cleanliness and a private bathroom, and (3) good connections to the Harvard Square region. This place met most of our criteria. It is not exactly impeccable, but good enough for the busy traveler. And the location is certainly really great.

Ahmed was very quick in responding and uncomplicated. We never met him in person, but the arrangement did not make this necessary either.

  • The place was great. Comfortable and convenient. It was great to have laundry on the premises. Quick bus ride into Harvard Square. The host was responsive and helpful.

  • Ahmed is a nice host. He does not live in the same apartment, but he always responses immediately. There was some technique problem in the beginning, but we managed to figure it out, and we had a nice way to communicate. The room I stayed for a month is clean and warm, quite and convenient to the bus station. I appreciate that the host really concerns about the guest.

  • The apartment was well equipped for almost everything you need, the house is in a nice location close to a lake, ideal for runners, and a gym is nearby. Large shopping area is 1 mile away. The stay was uncomplicated, everything went smooth from the start and the stay was pleasant. The room needs a bit of repainting on the walls, otherwise everything was as expected. I would stay here again.

  • I needed a furnished room with a private bath for a month while I looked for a permanent place in the Boston Area. Farhan's place was exactly what I was looking for. A nice apartment, well kept and clean close to work and within walking distance to groceries.
Farhan was not able to meet me in person so I was a little worried initially BUT he is really responsive and well organized and I was able to check in and check out with NO PROBLEM. The apartment was clean, with everything I needed and Farhan was a call away.
Bed was a little too soft for me, but I had a great time at his place and would recommend it to EVERYONE

  • Farhan was a great host: friendly, helpful and considerate. Also great communications - he always gets back to me within a day, even before moving in. The room is great - lots of space in the bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, but trader joe's, whole foods, and harvard square are all a bus ride away (bus 74 or 78). Tips for future visitors: use (website hidden) to check real-time bus schedules.

  • Farhan was a conscientious host. He was not home most of my stay (I stayed for a month), and he was responsive to the needs of myself and the other guests as necessary. The room was clean, and I loved having my own bathroom inside the bedroom. The living areas are also comfortable, though there are very few plates and kitchen tools available (enough for two people cooking light, but not enough to do any serious cooking or host a group of 3+).
I've made this a 4-star review (rather than 5) because of the rocky start. Farhan is a new AirBnB host, and while he is learning a lot and definitely improved a lot during the course of my stay, the beginning was a little shady. He was renting out both rooms in the house, and the couches in the living room (as well as, at one point, the backyard for a couple who was camping). It felt a little like a halfway house, with all the people in and out, and the sleeping on couches. Definitely not what I expected from an Air BnB rental, where the host is normally very present and gracious.
Farhan responded to our concerns about the over-commitment of sleeping spaces, and adjusted his rental plans. I know that he understands the issues, and I believe he will be more cautious about over-renting in the future. He responded to our concerns quickly, even within the month, and I am confident he will carry that learning forward for future guests. He is a really nice guy, and was really sweet about keeping some packages that I had mailed to the house, even after my reservation ended.

  • Farhan was an incredible host! Extremely flexible. He was always available to answer questions. The room is really nice. Its also really clean. The bathroom is right in the room so that is really Convenient. The Internet is pretty fast and there is cable in the living room. So overall a really good living experience. The bus stop is right outside the door so transportation is pretty easy. Will definitely stay there again.

  • The two of us stayed for two nights at this place. The place was clean and we had a private room with a private bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with cups, plates etc... There was no microwave but other than that, we had everything we needed. We had fresh towels waiting for us when we arrived, and the laundry was a nice perk to have. The host was very prompt in getting back to us whenever we contacted him or had any questions. We felt that he went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.

Transportation wise, you have some options. From downtown Boston, you can take the red line to the terminal station (Alewife) then take a cab or walk. We ended up walking about 20-25 minutes to and from the station. I'd say it was about a 40-45 minute trip once we got used to it. If you're taking a cab or driving, it would be faster, obviously.

The other option is to take the red line, get off at harvard sq then take a bus. We never did this, so I can't speak to it, but it's an option for those who want public transportation with less walking. I think you have to pay for the bus in addition to the train fare which is why we chose to walk.

Overall, the place is clean and comfortable, and the host was very nice and accommodating. I think we were one of the first guests Farhan has ever had, and I can only imagine the stay here would get better as he gains experience.
