A unique country GuestHouse artistically renovated from a repurposed insulated tractor trailer. Brilliantly designed to maximize space for a bedroom with a queen bed, desk area, and plenty of closet space. Full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, eating and lounging area, and comfy loft with a sleeper sofa. The spacious sunny deck and shady patio bring your rental experience more outside. Private, quiet woodland setting under dark night skies. Wifi and a Hepa filter air cleaner included.

The space
The house is unique not only because it's made from a repurposed insulated tractor trailer, but also because it utilizes many recycled and repurposed materials, such as the 1960's bamboo kitchen cabinets, recycled hardwood flooring and windows, and many antique elements.

There's plenty of nature to explore on the 160 acres of forest and stream, along with the farm’s free ranging chickens and fenced heritage turkeys. Gorgeous views of the Southern Tier’s undulating hills.

If you wish to venture out, we're located 13 min to Horseheads, 17 min to box store shopping mecca in Elmira, 35 min to Ithaca, 35 min to Watkins Glen, 25 min to Corning, 55 min to Hammondsport, and anywhere from 17- 90 min to wineries and breweries in the Finger Lakes. Also, 35 - 60 min to spectacular water falls and gorges in the State Parks.

Where you’ll be

Erin, New York, United States

The GuestHouse is off a rural dirt road, 2mi from the town of Erin, NY. The driveway is flat with plenty of parking. The 2 other homes on the property are not visible, but are within a short walking distance. The closest neighbor is .2mi away. We're all friendly distant neighborly neighbors!
Erin is located at what I like to call the “hub of the wheel” surrounded by Ithaca, Corning, Watkins Glen, Elmira, Sayre, and the Finger Lakes wineries, breweries, and parks. Branch out to explore the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes, or visit for special events and locations such as the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, Watkins Glen Car Races, Cornell University, Ithaca College, Elmira College, and the Corning Glass Museum.

I've had the privilege of living on this beautiful farm and woodland property since 1979. It formerly was a commune in the early '70's! Now, after additions to the house, a heritage turkey farm, chickens, woodland tea house, and many versions of the vegetable garden, I look forward to sharing it with the GuestHouse visitors. My landscape design/build business has kept me creative and physically active for 43 years. It's also allowed me lots of travel adventures, especially in the winter. My heritage turkey farm fills my desire to provide local organic meat, and help preserve heritage breeds and sustainable farming. I live on the property with my partner and musician nephew, poodle and cats, and a diversity of fauna and flora :~)
