The Space

**If you need more than one bedroom, please see our other listings; there are multiple bedrooms available.**

We are a family of three living in this very large house. We have several bedrooms available to travelers & folks visiting our fair city. We operate short term bedroom rentals in the vein of a true B&B; expect to share common areas with our family, friends, and perhaps another traveler or two. Longer term renters become housemates; laundering their linens as needed and supplying their own groceries. Elisabeth & I both come from families of six; open and direct communication is a requirement in big families and in shared living spaces. IF there is something you require let us know and we will do what we can to provide it. All guests are treated generously & with respect. We ask the same in return.

We are gracious hosts and enjoy sharing our favorite restaurants and local adventures with new friends. You'll find local chocolates on your pillow when you arrive, as well as maps and a copy of the most recent Boise Weekly. Daily & weekly rooms come with serve yourself breakfast of fruit, homemade muffins, congee, muesli, grits, and eggs. We are tea drinkers, but we do own a french press, and the Roosevelt Market is just two blocks away and ready to serve coffee beginning at 7am.

This Grand San Francisco style home is perfectly located in the Warm Springs neighborhood. Until recently the home of Bethine Church, the venerable widow of renowned Idaho Statesman Frank Church. Many national and international dignitaries have enjoyed evenings in this gracious living room and taken meals in the formal dining room. Mrs. Church says that the house has a wonderful spirit and that everyone who has ever entered it has had a great deal of fun there.

A brief walk from the State Capital, downtown restaurants & bars, the Boise River Greenbelt, and trail access at Military Reserve Park. With all of these wonderful destinations less than a mile from home, this is a location that cannot be beat in Boise.

  • Our hosts were very comfortable having guests in their home and provided access to their kitchen and the rest of the house. The bed was comfy. There was also plenty of room for us to park a car and trailer in front of their house.

  • My rating is A+.

This was "home." All the comfort, warmth and friendliness made me feel like part of the family.

But this was "vacation". To have so many extra perks was true luxury--a hot tub right down the hall; able to easily walk to the capitol building, the green belt, theaters, museums, BSU, an amazing array of coffee shops and then come back to the majestic Warm Springs area was awesome.

What a location! What a host!

  • I had a wonderful time staying in room #2. James and Elisabeth were great hosts! They helped me by driving me around a few times and even bought an umbrella so I wouldn't have to walk in the rain! It was very nice staying here; I would definitely recommend it!

  • James and Elisabeth, were like a family away from home. Boise will remain a very special place that I will likely revisit throughout my life owing, in large part, to how well they have accommodated me. In addition to the basics (lodging and what not) James introduced me to his friends; we went water rafting and to dinner/BBQ among many other things! He even took the time to help me move into my new place once my time with him was up. A sincere friendship to say the least. I highly recommend them to anyone.

  • James and family were wonderful. We arrived late and they had no issue meeting us and ushering us immediately into the HOT TUB ROOM! We felt comfortable immediately in their wide, clean, beautiful space. The handmade furniture/metal and woodworking was especially lovely. Slept well, then were fed a delicious and healthy breakfast and given directions to a local market where we could but food for the remainder of our trip across the country. We lingered until noon using the living room. Thank you for a great stay! Will rebook if again in Boise.

  • James gladly welcomed me on my last minute request in Boise and I'm so glad he did! The room was clean and comfortable. James was great to talk to and gave some great advice for dinner. It was just a quick stay but so nice to stay in a warm and inviting home. Thanks James!

  • My parents stayed for four nights while they were in town visiting. They found the location ideal (since I live just a few blocks away--but with not much space for visitors). They said the bed was very comfortable, it was convenient to use the kitchen in the mornings, their room was clean and simple, and they had the hall bath all to themselves. James was not in town, but the house sitter was both friendly and helpful during their stay. A great visit for them!

We enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to Boise. We have plenty of experience in doing that; in a typical month we have visitors for 15+ days. We will happily provide tips for dining, entertainment, or outdoor adventure. We also completely respect the need for privacy and solitude; there is ample space to check out with a book or your thoughts. We are relatively new to Boise--6 years here--and still see many of the unique treasures with the eye of a tourist. We enjoy large family meals at home, and get out to restaurants and performances weekly. Kayaking, biking, hiking, and coffee shop lounging are all in a days work for us.
