Should you stay in one bedroom while I am here, I am generally very in and out. I love to get to know my guests, welcome them, hear why they have come to Louisville, and sometimes when the spirit has moved us we have had long conversations and even gone out to eat or to yoga! I'm actually grateful to Airbnb because two of my closest girlfriends were first my guests! But in general, and most of the time, I let you do your own thing, and am always available for questions, needs even if by phone. (I will not bother you;)
Please see the main description. There is no place in Louisville I would rather live than The Highlands, for these reasons:
Walkability- beautiful walks in park, down neighborhood streets with great architecture or along fun Bardstown Road;
Food and drink- The Highlands is known for having the most number of the best, local, creative restaurants in town, in addition to microbreweries, boutique beer houses, wine bars and coffee shops.
Location of house- you have easy walking or driving access to all above but when you are at the house it's quiet and you feel very private.
Proximity to rest of city including downtown. You'd never know it at the house but you are 5 minutes from the expressway and 7-8 minutes from downtown.
The public bus "TARC" runs regularly up and down Bardstown Road, which is about a 5-minute walk at the end of the street. I cannot vouch for it's convenience, though- this is not a big city and I can't speak to the waiting times. Cabs are easy if you call ahead and fairly cheap because "anything in Louisville is 10-15 minutes away".

Well that didn't help!
As long as you don't spill a lot of things or howl at the moon ALL night, that's not for me to say.
Julie was a lovely host! We hardly saw (or heard) her while we were there, but the several times we chatted, she was so laid-back and welcoming, that we felt completely at home. It was the first time we ever stayed in a shared AirBnB, and the experience totally put us at ease. Also, Julie's place was conveniently located on a cute and quiet street, a 10-15 minute walk from fun restaurants and bars.
A lovely home from a lovely woman. Tucked in a quiet street just off bustling Bardstown Rd, this charming old house is a great base of operations for exploring the restaurants and shops and pubs along Bardstown, and it's easy to get downtown as well. Julie is the definition of kindness and is probably the most helpful and giving host I've ever rented from. Highly recommended!
Only good things to say! It clean, comfortable and easy! Would stay again. Close to a great downtown area.
Comfortable, spacious home in one of my favorite neighborhoods in the country. Within walking distance to Bardstown Rd. coffee shops, pubs, restaurants. Also convenient to historic parks with an abundance of running trails etc.
Comfortable, quiet room where I slept well.
Enjoyed hot tea in the morning and took advantage of the fast wifi to stay caught up with business.
Julie is the perfect host. I hope to stay here again.
Julie was a wonderful host and she has a beautiful home! We had a great conversation and she gave us some on-point restaurant suggestions. Also her house is located right off a main commercial district right off of Bardstown so we could walk to everything g while we were there!
Great neighborhood and very cozy and comfortable house/room! would recommend to anyone coming to town! parking was easy as well.
We had a great stay with Julie! She provided a ton of great recommendations for our one-night stay there, and was more than accommodating of us. It felt like staying at a friend's house because she was so hospitable. Neighborhood was great too, close to bars, restaurants, etc. One of the best areas of Louisville!
We will definitely stay with Julie next time we are in town.
