Bright and airy private cottage on the shores of Rose Bay. Unobstructed views of the wild Atlantic for spotting wildlife. Bask in summer sunrises and sunsets, or experience breathtaking winter storms. Swim on the private black sand beach (at low tide), and hike acres of pristine shoreline, forest, and meadow.

Walk/bike to the white sands of Kingsburg beach. Famous Hirtle's Beach and Gaff Point hiking trail is 4km away, down quiet country roads- stunning year round.

The space
This whitewashed post and beam bright cottage sits directly on the shores of the wild Atlantic, looking onto Rose Bay. Access to the water is private and direct- down a short craggy rock path to a black sand beach (best accessed at low tide). You can hike all 1,000+ ft of our shoreline, while gathering the treasures washed up- delicate seaweed, seashells, and seaglass.

The family and pet friendly cottage is private and quiet, located at the far end of our homestead, with plenty of room for parking. Direct access to acres of our pristine forest and meadows, or explore nearby Kingsburg and Hirtle's beach. Winter walks on the beach are the best to watch the moody Atlantic, then grab a book from our library and cozy down.

The RoseHead has a full kitchen with oven, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and french press, kettle, full-size fridge and freezer, double sink, and breakfast bar.

A custom dining table seats 6, and the living room has a daybed full of cushions as well as a deep chair and footstool.

The primary bedroom overlooks the ocean, and boasts a vintage queen four poster bed from Bali. Includes a closet, tall drawer dresser, and a full bathroom: shower, sink, toilet.

The second and third bedrooms are identical: clean, white, bright and simple. Queen beds, vaulted ceilings, wardrobe, and small ensuites which include a shower and sink each.

The RoseHead also has a main bathroom including sink, toilet, and full washer and dryer, and a hall closet for footwear and coats.

Location

Kingsburg, Nova Scotia, Canada

Located on the outskirts of the village of Kingsburg, the RoseHead is private and quiet. This is full immersion in nature. The forest is draped in Spanish moss, and the sea surrounds our point- the scent of salty ocean air and the sound of crashing surf is everywhere. Kingsburg is a beach community, with multiple havens for sand and surf.

A 7km ride around the curves of Rose Bay will take you along the historic Lighthouse Trail to the Rose Bay General Store and Sand Dollar Beach. The General Store offers the basics in a lovely setting, as well as the most amazing bistro food for takeout or dine in (patio and indoor seating). The food is wholesome and delicious, with vegan and gluten free options, as well as gorgeous sweet treats. Sand Dollar Beach is best at low tide.

A 20 minute drive takes you to stunning Lunenburg, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home of The Bluenose II schooner. This town has the essentials- full grocery stores, pharmacies, and banks, as well as the beautiful- new and used cozy bookstores, excellent coffee, fantastic restaurants, a specialty seafood shop, the Lunenburg School of the Arts for weekend or specialty courses across many mediums, town pier, health and wellness cafe, and little boutiques showcasing local and well curated goods.

We are also 20 minutes to the tiny LaHave river ferry, which takes cars and pedestrians across to the LaHave bakery, Homegrown Skateboards, local pottery shops, beautiful town pier and the cozy LaHave bookstore. Your travels can continue down to the historic Fort Point Lighthouse, West Dublin (The Ploughman's Lunch cafe and market), and Petite Riviere for antique shops, restaurants, and general store.

The RoseHead is 40 minutes to Bridgewater (cinema and shopping), 45 minutes to Chester (golf and sailing), 1.5 hours to Halifax (Public Gardens, specialty shopping, airport), 1.5 hours to Wolfville (wineries, restaurants, boutiques and antiques)
