  • Our staying was very pleasant, in a dreaming neighbourhood.
We stayed 2 month in this lovely apartment and it make us want to come back one day. Richard & Suzanne are very nice host, and thanks for that. We recommend this place, so much!!

  • Rich & Suzi's studio space was a true gem of a find. I was pleasantly surprised by the layout - it feels roomy, has so much storage space, & is very comfy. Just 3.5 miles from my job at UCSF, right around the corner from TJs, Whole Foods, shopping, super close to SFO. Exactly as stated! No issue w/street parking. They are the sweetest hosts! So nice, laid back, welcoming, & sunny dispositions! I would happily rent again!

  • The cactus cottage was fantastic! The place is very spacious, even bigger than it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and had a nice homey feeling. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Basically, it was just a perfect place to stay. The house is in a great neighborhood - safe, clean, plenty of street parking and only a few minutes to downtown SF. Richard and Suzanne were also incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  • My wife and I describe our 5 weeks stay in the Cactus Cottage in two words : comfortable and happy. Richard and Suzanne were the best hosts that made us feel very welcome and they both were very helpful.

We are former long time residents of San Francisco returning for family and friends visits in the area. Because we know the city well, we were fully aware of all the practical positive points mentioned in reviews by previous guest of Cactus Cottage. This includes a lovely , safe and quiet neighborhood plenty of free parking space ( a rare commodity in SF) and convenient proximity to shopping areas. We had a car to use but for those who wish to use public transport there are several bus and tram lines within walking distance from the Cactus Cottage. Easy access to leisure areas and to the freeway is an added plus.

The layout of the studio gives it a feel of a one bedroom apartment that is very tastefully furnished and decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and equipment. The garden of the Cactus Cottage is a beautiful variety of cactus plants tastefully laid out.
Scott MacKenzie in his song about san Francisco says:If you're going to San Francisco....You're gonna meet some gentle people there, Richard and Suzanne sure meet the bill: they are both gentle and hospitable hosts.

  • The cottage is lovely and Rick and his wife were very kind, showed us around and even gave us a ride to the airport. I would definitely recommend it.

  • Rick and Suzy made me feel welcome and comfortable. Great place, as described. Cactus cottage was my home away from home. I look forward to staying there again. I left feeling I'd made new friends.

  • Rick was very helpful and kind with us when we arrived at the apartment, we were not able to find the house.. and Rick picked us with his car; we really appreciated it. We rented the studio for a week and we were very comfortable, the studio was very clean and the location was great; It close to a bus stop and a Shopping Centre with supermarkets, stores, restaurants... Thanks for everything Rick!

About
Hello, my wife and I are youthful baby boomers enjoying the beautiful activities available in San Francisco. We are both retired from the SF Chronicle newspaper after long careers. Suzanne has worked in many facets of the media world prior to her newspaper career, including Rolling Stone Mag & Psychology Today. I am a San Francisco native and my wife originates from from New York City & has been living here over 30 years. We love yoga, swimming, long walks on the beach near us, traveling & spending time with our wonderful friends. We keep current with the tech & cultural trends in SF including the theatre, arts, dance & many museums available. For all of this we are very grateful.. Thanks
