Beautiful apartment in a 1910s style villa. Entirely renovated in a rustic style with original furniture. Fully renovated kitchen with dishwasher and utensils. Spacious and sunny family room. The two bedrooms are furnished with gorgeous pieces, with incredible vistas on the city of Cortona and the Tuscan countryside. The house is breezy and very pleasant. All the rooms have amazing vistas. Outside the house there is an incredible garden available to the guests, with a table to dine and chairs to relax. Close to the house there is a little deli and an affordable restaurant with incredible view.
We just added a tiny but very, very cute swimming pool surrounded by olive trees. From it, you can gaze at the Tuscan countryside, see the beautiful town of Cortona in the distance. You can relax while waiting for the day to cool off before visiting the numerous Tuscan villages nearby the apartment.
Parking is available. Upon arrival, you will find Enzo Moretti waiting for you for the keys. Breakfast will be served to you with pastries from the family bakery, pasticceria Banchelli, an historic pastry shop inaugurated by the Banchelli family in 1939 in down town Cortona. The town is 3.5 miles away. A car is necessary to visit the nearby area. Buses are available with a bus stop right outside the garden but not too frequent over the summer. Numerous path to walk are available around the house. Enzo will be happy to show them to you. Villa Le More is in an incredible location, away from the crowded streets of Florence, Siena and Roma, yet close to them enough to take day trips. The train station of Terontola is very close (1.5 miles) and offers affordable train rides to Florence (6.7 euros one way), and to Rome (8 euros one way).

Enzo’s place is right on State Road Number SR71 and get off SR71 once you see Ossaia sign and then look for the house number. It is 5 kms south from Cortona centro. The Highway Route Numbers in Italy are written in small font size under Highway Route Name.
While we arrived at the Enzo’s place with our rental car, the gate was open to let us drive right into the roofed parking lot. Enzo came right out from the house next door to greet us and took us to the apartment at the second floor and walked us through the apartment. He asked our itinerary during our stay and shared with us places we could visit. Then, Enzo’s wife showed up to greet us as well. We all had a good chat even if we don’t speak with each other’s language well. During our conversation, Enzo wrote down the name and address of a pastry and coffee shop in Cortona Centro on his business card. Initially, we thought that it is the place where Enzo recommended us to have pastries and tea; we checked online, it seems like a highly recommended place to stop. We went there on the last day we were in the area for breakfast yet couldn’t find it. That night when Enzo came to say farewell to us and about check-out procedure for next day morning, we mentioned it to him and he gave us the detail instructions for how to get there. While we stopped there before we left for Florence, we got a surprise free treat for what we ordered after we showed Enzo’s business card.
Enzo made us feel so welcome. I found out the hair dryer didn’t work on one of nights after I washed my hair and emailed Enzo next day morning before we went out for the day. Enzo replied the email and apologized for he was not aware of it. To show his sincere apology, he left us a bottle of red wine with a brand new hair dryer at the front door of apartment. Enzo also let us know we could check out anytime we wanted on our check-out day since we were their last renters for 2014.
The apartment has two bedrooms and each room has a queen size bed. Kitchen and dining room are large compared to the other 6 places we have stayed on the trip. There are supermarkets right on State Road SR71 close to Cortona and a restaurant next door. It has all we need and we enjoyed our stay.
Enzo was a fantastic host - helpful and available if needed but never intrusive. He even sent us away with some delicious pastries for our long drive from Tuscany to Milan. The house is a bit off the beaten path, but it's easy to access an array of sites from the main road and there's a decent pizza place just two doors away if you feel like eating in for a night.
We had a great stay plush Enzo! He was very very nice, he spoke good english, the apartment was huge, two great bedrooms, and we enjoyed the large and equipped kitchen.
This is a lovely place to stay, located in a quiet little town. The town itself doesn't have much to offer, but that's no problem because the location is great for day trips. What the town does have is a great restaurant that offers the best gluten free pizza and bread I have ever tasted. And it's about 3 door away from this lovely home.
The rooms have comfortable beds and windows to let the beautiful fresh air in. What this apartment offers that others may not is a living/dining room area to hang out in. There is off-street parking and a security gate.
The view from this apartment is great. Enzo was welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful.
Enzo's home was indeed lovely, just as you might expect. It was well located and close to all amenities.
If you are looking for a real Tuscan experience, this is the place to go.
Parfait,
I am a retired regional council manager who decided to devote his spare time to restore old furniture and I have a garden. I also spend a lot of time in the organic vegetables and fruits garden adjacent to our home. All the guests at our apartment have tasted my delicious cuore di bue tomatoes, my fried zucchini flowers, and the peaches of my trees. I am also very involved in keeping Cortona green, and I am at the head of committee against the opening of a polluting palm oil plant (Centrale per l'olio di palma).
My wife Mirella and I have been married for 31 years, and have four daughters. Erica lives in US and teaches at Mount Holyoke College. Lucia studies cinema in Roma. Laura and Silvia are in Florence studying respectively economics and medicine. They are all somewhat involved in the summer house.
We look forward to meeting you all in person at our summer house.
