The space

Beautiful apartment in a 1910s style villa. Entirely renovated in a rustic style with original furniture. Fully renovated kitchen with dishwasher and utensils. Spacious and sunny family room. The two bedrooms are furnished with gorgeous pieces, with incredible vistas on the city of Cortona and the Tuscan countryside. The house is breezy and very pleasant. All the rooms have amazing vistas. Outside the house there is an incredible garden available to the guests, with a table to dine and chairs to relax. Close to the house there is a little deli and an affordable restaurant with incredible view.
We just added a tiny but very, very cute swimming pool surrounded by olive trees. From it, you can gaze at the Tuscan countryside, see the beautiful town of Cortona in the distance. You can relax while waiting for the day to cool off before visiting the numerous Tuscan villages nearby the apartment.
Parking is available. Upon arrival, you will find Enzo Moretti waiting for you for the keys. Breakfast will be served to you with pastries from the family bakery, pasticceria Banchelli, an historic pastry shop inaugurated by the Banchelli family in 1939 in down town Cortona. The town is 3.5 miles away. A car is necessary to visit the nearby area. Buses are available with a bus stop right outside the garden but not too frequent over the summer. Numerous path to walk are available around the house. Enzo will be happy to show them to you. Villa Le More is in an incredible location, away from the crowded streets of Florence, Siena and Roma, yet close to them enough to take day trips. The train station of Terontola is very close (1.5 miles) and offers affordable train rides to Florence (6.7 euros one way), and to Rome (8 euros one way).

Enzo was a great host, met us at check-in and gave us a great overview of Cortona and nearby places to visit. Great location for anyone who wants to be close to Cortona but more affordable than city center and having parking was a plus!

If you want to experience Tuscany at its most authentic charm, this is the place. Everything you dreamed about staying at a time preserved location, you will find here. We were here in early June and enjoyed not having air conditioning, but one hot day the pool made up for it. Enzo and his family were perfect hosts. They made sure we knew all the different places around us, whether it was restaurants, grocery, vineyards or their annual festival. We highly recommend you have a car to get around. We loved staying here. We will always have fond memories.

Enzo was extremely helpful with checking in and out and he also provided us a bunch of food during the stay. The scenery is beautiful and there are a couple of towns near by. The apartment is very big and clean. We loved it!

This was the second time we stayed at Enzo's and Mirella's place in Ossaia and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. It was like visiting very good friends or becoming a part of their family. If you wish to have a real Tuscan Holiday this is the perfect place. It is very comfortable and located in the perfect place for doing day trips to all the Tuscan Medieval Hill Villages. It also has a beautiful view of Cortona which is only a few minutes away. The kitchen is nicely equipped so it is very easy to prepare your meals. There is a nice Pizzaria a few doors away that has good pizza and other good Typical Tuscan dishes and a nice coffee shop is even closer. The house has a washing machine and drying rack for laundry which is very convenient, or if you want a cloths dryer there is a nice self service laundromat with parking called "Blue Water" which is located on the main street near the train station in Terontola. For visiting Rome or Florence taking the train from Terontola is very convenient. You can park your car just behind the station for free. Enzo and Mirella are wonderful hosts and have a wealth of information to share. We have used many Airbnb's in many locations but without a doubt this is our favorite.

Enzo and his wife were warm, friendly and welcoming. They were helpful with directions, places to go, things to do and best times to go. Enzo brought his bbq for us to use one evening, including the starter, wood and charcoal. They were immediately responsive to any questions or requests. The view from the garden was wonderful. This location is a great place for visiting many sites in Tuscany. There are restaurants and grocery nearby. We were welcomed with bottled water, fresh grapes and milk - all welcome provisions after a lengthy drive. Enzo surprised us one morning with wonderful fresh pastries from his nephew's bakery in nearby Cortona. We could not have asked for more.

You will not find nicer people then Enzo and his wife. They invited us into their home for delicious dinner with friends, brought us pastries in the morning a times, and arranged the cleaning lady to come weekly as we stayed a whole month. The house itself is an older Tuscan style one, with a big yard and a pretty view of the city of Cortona on the hill above. On the bottom level, an older Italian gentleman lives. He spits loudly and frequently out of his window and made us worry for him with his constant coughing, but he does not come out of his downstairs apartment or interact with guests at all... So the property feels very private. The top level is for guests, and it is quite large, with two bedrooms, a bathroom with a very small shower, a well equipped kitchen, a dining room and a large hall connecting all these rooms. The yard is really nice, the highlight of the property. There is a lovely landscaped lawn, with several places to sit and enjoy the citrus, palm and olive trees and the beautiful flowers. The pool is the plastic above ground type, but it is built into a terrace below the house, with a lovely wooden deck and surrounded by gorgeous old olive trees. The property is fenced and gated and has secure covered parking. The house is a bit tired, with some cracks in the plaster and floors. Much of the furniture is cool antiques, especially the larger wood or iron pieces like the bed frames, tables, cabinets and armoires! But I think new couches would be great, and the bed linens, towels and curtains are old and don't match or feel luxurious. The kitchen was great and equipped with everything we needed. Enzo even loaned us his barbecue so we could enjoy cooking in the nice yard when the weather was good. There is an excellent grocery store just down the road in Camucia, a very tiny market/bar right next door to the house and a good restaurant with take out pizza (and karaoke on Fridays!). Cortona is an easy 10 minute drive away. Great value for the money, not a luxury accommodation but clean and usable and excellent hosts!

I am a retired regional council manager who decided to devote his spare time to restore old furniture and I have a garden. I also spend a lot of time in the organic vegetables and fruits garden adjacent to our home. All the guests at our apartment have tasted my delicious cuore di bue tomatoes, my fried zucchini flowers, and the peaches of my trees. I am also very involved in keeping Cortona green, and I am at the head of committee against the opening of a polluting palm oil plant (Centrale per l'olio di palma).

My wife Mirella and I have been married for 31 years, and have four daughters. Erica lives in US and teaches at Mount Holyoke College. Lucia studies cinema in Roma. Laura and Silvia are in Florence studying respectively economics and medicine. They are all somewhat involved in the summer house.

We look forward to meeting you all in person at our summer house.
