The Space

Beautiful apartment in a 1910s style villa. Entirely renovated in a rustic style with original furniture. Fully renovated kitchen with dishwasher and utensils. Spacious and sunny family room. The two bedrooms are furnished with gorgeous pieces, with incredible vistas on the city of Cortona and the Tuscan countryside. The house is breezy and very pleasant. All the rooms have amazing vistas. Outside the house there is an incredible garden available to the guests, with a table to dine and chairs to relax. Close to the house there is a little deli and an affordable restaurant with incredible view.
We just added a tiny but very, very cute swimming pool surrounded by olive trees. From it, you can gaze at the Tuscan countryside, see the beautiful town of Cortona in the distance. You can relax while waiting for the day to cool off before visiting the numerous Tuscan villages nearby the apartment.
Parking is available. Upon arrival, you will find Enzo Moretti waiting for you for the keys. Breakfast will be served to you with pastries from the family bakery, pasticceria Banchelli, an historic pastry shop inaugurated by the Banchelli family in 1939 in down town Cortona. The town is 3.5 miles away. A car is necessary to visit the nearby area. Buses are available with a bus stop right outside the garden but not too frequent over the summer. Numerous path to walk are available around the house. Enzo will be happy to show them to you. Villa Le More is in an incredible location, away from the crowded streets of Florence, Siena and Roma, yet close to them enough to take day trips. The train station of Terontola is very close (1.5 miles) and offers affordable train rides to Florence (6.7 euros one way), and to Rome (8 euros one way).

  • We spent a fabulous week in Enzo's and Mirellas villa in Tuscany! Surrounding area is just wonderful with easy access (by car) to many sights and wine areas in Tuscany. The restaurant La Tufa is pretty much next door and the food was great and affordable too.
Enzo is a fabulous host in all aspects; he helped us when we had some problems with the wifi and he even surprised us with the delicious chianti-wine! We would recommend Enzo's villa to everyone visiting to Tuscany!

  • Awesome views over the countryside, with huge windows, and a thriving garden.
Enzo was helpful and available - we enjoyed our stay immensely!

Loved the classic style of the apartment, the tile floors and the fresh herbs outside.

  • When we arrived, we had trouble getting hold of Enzo, but once we did, he was very quick to get us settled in. The location was wonderful. It was easy to drive into Cortona and neighboring towns, such as Montepulciano. My sister and I loved staying in this house. It was closer to the road than I expected, but that wasn't an issue. The apartment was large and sleeping with the windows open at night was amazing. The kitchen is very nice and well stocked as well. We didn't get to use the pool as we hoped, but we put our feet in, and it was great. Would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to friends!

  • Enzo and his wife were excellent hosts. The place has fantastic views of the valley. Great location for day trips, and near the train station. Everything that we needed was provided. We would recommend this place for anyone who would love the Italian countryside. Enzo also provided wonderful pastries from the nearby family bakery.

  • We stayed at Enzo's and Mirella's apartment in Ossaia for 11days and can say it was a wonderful home for basing our travel experiences in Tuscany and Umbria. The apartment is bright and airy with wonderful views of Cortona and the Tuscan countryside. Every morning we would wake and open the windows to fresh air and the sounds of morning doves and the local church bells. The apartment does set on a road connecting the major road the SR 71 and Cortona. The road is busy at times but we were never disturbed by traffic noise. We have a special comment for our hosts, Enzo and Mirella. You are 2 of the most wonderful people we have met. You are gracious and accommodating hosts. We are truly honored to have been your company and appreciate your character and honest way of living. We are better for having been with you even for this short time.

  • Enzo and his wife were the perfect hosts. They welcomed us to their home and their village, and we would love to revisit them sometime. They were available when we needed advice about the local area and we spent lots of time getting to know them and their family. They are naturally warm hosts and we thank them for letting us help with the olive harvest.

Ossaia is a small village surrounded by olive groves. At its center is a church, a lovely restaurant just steps away from the house, (email hidden)/club. This store is the heart of the village because its very existence is there for the older villagers who do not have easy access to a car. it provides basic staples, coffee morning noon and night, and it serves as a community center for celebrations. We were there for the first olive pressing and first wine celebration, and were made to feel very welcome.

What a lovely experience our whole week was!

I am a retired regional council manager who decided to devote his spare time to restore old furniture and I have a garden. I also spend a lot of time in the organic vegetables and fruits garden adjacent to our home. All the guests at our apartment have tasted my delicious cuore di bue tomatoes, my fried zucchini flowers, and the peaches of my trees. I am also very involved in keeping Cortona green, and I am at the head of committee against the opening of a polluting palm oil plant (Centrale per l'olio di palma). My wife Mirella and I have been married for 31 years, and have four daughters. Erica lives in US and teaches at Mount Holyoke College. Lucia studies cinema in Roma. Laura and Silvia are in Florence studying respectively economics and medicine. They are all somewhat involved in the summer house. We look forward to meeting you all in person at our summer house.
