Iain and Trish are fabulous hosts and their house is amazing! It is very spacious and well equipped with most everything you could ask for. They went way above and beyond in making use feel welcomed and at ease. They introduced us to some of their friends who are local vitners and accompanied us on a fun day of grape harvesting, wine tasting and tours of the winery facilities. I could go on and on about their hospitality. Needles to say I highly recommend them and their house. (The only minor negative is the pool is not heated and was too chilly for most of us.)

Iain and Trish's villa is an absolute gem. Well appointed doesn't even begin to cover how excellently thought-out this house is. The 6 beautiful bedrooms, all with lovely ensuites and air conditioning, were certainly a highlight. There is an huge amount of space in the 3 internal living areas so no one ever felt like they were getting on top of each other. The outside space is fabulous - enormous pool, lots of room to lounge and eat outside and a pretty view of next door's vineyards. You can be seen by a couple of the neighbours as the house is on a road in the village but they were perfectly pleasant and you can't be seen when by the pool. The barbeque is huge, well equipped and very efficient! Our hosts, Iain and Trish were excellent, friendly, helpful and very kind. We got a generous welcome package of breakfast and wine that was such a treat for our first night. I can't praise Le Coq du Nord or it's hosts highly enough. Tips would be: hire a car to take fullest advantage of they local area, visit Iain & Trish's recommended restaurants and make sure you try as much of the local wine as you can - there are a couple of wine shops stocked by local vineyards within 10 minutes drive of the house!

From the moment we made contact with Iain and Trish we were made to feel completely at ease with our booking. Communication was easy and questions answered quickly. Upon arrival at their beautiful home we were instantly impressed with the property and in particular the kitchen, garden and outside space. We were a group of 13, including 5 children aged 20 months to 12, and the house was perfect for us. The salt water pool is absolutely gorgeous and we spent many long hours relaxing in and enjoying the water. It is a very large pool and extremely deep so it really allowed all of us to get in and make the most of it. The kitchen is superbly well equipped and we were even able to make a birthday cake for one of the children and we held a pool party. The knives are also sharp which is often a failing of a rental property! Iain and Trish provided us with a brilliant welcome package including tea for the children, breakfast for all the following day and several bottles of local wine! Quite enough to get us off to a good start. They are very knowledgable of the local area and extremely helpful. In fact, one of our party broke his knee, while out jogging in the village (never a good idea!), and Iain and Trish were immediately on hand to help us get him to the hospital in Narbonne. They were able to lend us a wheel chair and and shower chair and allowed us to use the sofa bed downstairs, which meant that he and his family could remain for the rest of the holiday after he came out of hospital. We honestly cannot thank them enough for their help during this ordeal as it could have ruined the holiday for everyone. If you are struggling to decide whether or not to book this property my advice would be to just do it! It is worth every penny. We had a fantastic 2 weeks and would without doubt go back again. Thanks again Iain and Trish

Wonderful house with an amazing equipment. And, of course, with very friendly and caring Iain & Trish! The pool is huge and, like the entire house and garden, perfectly kept clean. Mailhac is a small village with friendly neighbours. You can get fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, baguettes and some other food in a little store and also good wine from the vigneron next to the house. The location is excellent for trips to the beach, Narbonne, Carcassonne and more.

Fab villa, in a small village location, our family had a wonderful two weeks, ages ranging from 9 months to 83 years. The villa has everything you need and some. As a word of caution anybody driving from the UK needs a dose of courage driving on the very narrow roads, it was a bit hair-raising at times but on the whole the roads are very quiet, we only experienced as few raised fists when not driving the french way, opps! Didier sells great wine at the winery just outside the gate, everyone loved the Domaine Camberaud Minervoise rose. Many thanks to Iain and Trish for a great holiday.
