Our 1915 Craftsman bungalow is full of art, and you will love our comfortable guest room, walk in shower with rain head, and bathroom gallery. The neighborhood is great for walking with close by park, restaurants, and grocery.
Welcome to our remodeled 1915 Craftsman bungalow in Curtis Park, a leafy, diverse, walkable neighborhood about 2 miles from the capitol in Sacramento. Our house is full of art from friends, family, and that we've collected here and around the world.
The guest room with pillow top queen bed is on the main floor, with a wonderful newly remodeled bathroom adjoining. There is an empty wardrobe for your use, plus drawers in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bath has a huge walk in shower with rain head and hand sprayer. You'll love the bathroom "gallery"! There is plenty of privacy. Our bedroom and bath is upstairs.
Within walking distance are a great grocery store, several restaurants, and a light rail station. We have 2 mountain bikes you can borrow, too.
We are happy to offer fresh ground coffee, loose tea, and home made granola. Guests are free to use the kitchen. We usually have some fresh produce from the garden to share.
We currently have one cat, Leontien, who is the professional guest greeter.
For those requesting lodging, we'd appreciate it if you included your photo and something about yourself on your airbnb profile. We would also really like it if you would leave a review after your stay.
Guest room, bath, living room, TV room, kitchen, outdoors.
We love to interact with guests, but if guests want their own space we won't interact much at all.
Our neighborhood is great! It is so friendly and old fashioned, with sidewalks and small lots. We know and socialize with our neighbors. People can walk, bike, or take light rail into midtown, and our guests can too.
As mentioned above, there is light rail 3 blocks away, and we have loaner mountain bikes.
I had a very comfortable stay at Linda and John's beautifully and creatively appointed home. I would definitely stay here again should I return to the Sacremento area.
John and Linda were great hosts. They provided me with ample privacy and graciously offered up ideas for restaurants, coffee houses and breweries. They made the arrival and departure process easy. Bedroom and bathroom were great (bed very comfortable). And they make a GREAT cup of morning coffee!
Linda and John are the perfect hosts. All communications were handled promptly. Their home is beautiful and my room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. I slept well and found the bed one I would like to return to again. The house is filled with art and objects from their travels and they were fun to talk to. The neighborhood is lovely with good restaurants nearby. Leontine, their pet kitty, is friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed everything about my stay.
This is the third time that I have stayed with Linda & John. I have come to think of their home as my home away-from-home. They are warm, kind, and sensitive to one's need for privacy while sharing a glass of wine and nibbles when the opportunity is right. I so appreciate their pleasant room and accompanying private bath both filled with art ... and the bath with a wonderfully hot shower. They have created a very reposeful place for a weary traveler... oh, yes, and Leontien the cat is also a gracious hostess. Prrrr...Leontien. Thank you, Linda & John, for your many kindnesses. Linda
Amazing people, kind and gracious hosts; John and Linda made me feel right at home. I truly enjoyed their warm hospitality and generous spirit upon which I was welcomed into their home. The space was just as advertised: clean, comfortable and easy access in and out of their lovely home. I highly recommend their space!
Very kind and welcoming hosts. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Linda and John!
Delightful home in an excellent part of town! Very clean, cozy and comfortable. I particularly liked the bathroom/shower: probably the nicest I've experienced at an airbnb accomodation. The charming walkable neighborhood is a plus! Thanks Linda and John!!
Highly recommend staying with John and Linda. They are inviting and interesting folks! The house was just lovely and in a great location. I stayed for a weekend and I couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. Added bonuses to staying with John and Linda were their GREAT recommendations for cafes and restaurants in town and their friendly kitty!
A quiet, peaceful and artful home. Very pleasant with nice bedroom and accompanying bath. The Elgarts are interesting and gracious hosts. I enjoyed meeting them and I enjoyed my stay. Leontien, the cat, also a lovely ambassador for the Elgart household :-)
I got in very late into Sacramento, so I wasn't able to hang out with Linda and John much. Even though they were out of the house, they were gracious enough to make it easy for me to let myself in and unload. We talked briefly in the morning and they are super friendly. Their cat is as friendly as they said she was.
The house sits in this awesome neighborhood. John said it is a 100 year old neighborhood and I believe it. It was obviously designed for walking, not driving. Each house is unique, designed to show off families as people strolled through the neighborhood. I could hear the light rail nearby, so it would have convenient access to any number of places in Sacramento.
It's too bad I was passing through. The neighborhood and the house itself feels and looks like the what all the other Bohemian neighborhoods copied from. I didn't get a chance to sample any of the restaurants in the area, but maybe that will be for next time!
