Welcome to Turnstone & Shelduck, wonderful, 'on-board' off-grid stay in a one-of-a-kind coastal location; across both boats sleeps 2-8 guests
Our 1970's Westerley Centaur yachts are moored in an idyllic lagoon on the Hants coast. Accessible by water, bring/hire paddleboards/kayaks, catch a small passenger ferry, or take a gently 2-mile walk along Hurst Spit.
These yachts are heaped with nautical charm, cosy, clean and comfortable, allowing you to truly embrace the sea air and great outdoors.

The space
For any size booking from 2-8 guests, you will have both Turnstone and Shelduck to use. They are beautifully maintained and full of original features. It sits alongside a fixed pontoon, so no sailing experience is required.

You will find a charming saloon and galley on board. The saloon has a cosy L-shaped sofa, perfect for curling up and reading a book, or there’s a pair of binoculars for spotting the plentiful bird and sea life.

Off the saloon is a compact double cabin at the front and two single ‘cupboard’ cabins at the rear, suitable for children, plus a small storage area. The sleeping accommodation, whilst snug, is flexible, suiting couples, friends or small families that like each other!

Up on deck there is room to spread out and sunbathe, with cushioned seating in the cockpit to enjoy supper at sunset. There is also a sun/shower canopy.

With more than a touch of the Swallows and Amazons about it, you’ll experience back to basics, simple living in a spectacular location. Both boats are equipped with the essentials for a truly off-grid experience. On the shared pontoon there’s a gas BBQ and hob for outside dining. The pontoon also houses our 'loo with a view', which is waterless, environmentally friendly, and odourless.

The boat facilities are 100% solar powered and designed for simple, off-grid living – so no hot running water or indoor showers. But you will find everything essential for a rejuvenating wilderness stay.
What’s included:
- Warm bedding, pillows, and hand towels
- Cold running water for cooking/washing
- 5ltr. Bottle of drinking water
- Welcome pack: tea, coffee, milk, sugar
- Kettle
- Cool box (with freezer blocks ready for your arrival)
- Crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils
- Cleaning products, two T-towels

- Off-boat loo and basic camping shower
- Binoculars
- A selection of games and books
- Picnic bench on pontoon
- New for 2022 – pass for the passenger ferry (leaves outside Hurst Castle to Keyhaven), where you can access Milford on Sea.
